Why are most of us afraid of death?

Pre programmed instinct is the central factor. If this weren't the case there would be no point to it, since there would be no value in anything, and no means to entice the individual to craft his art into something larger.

I don't think there is anything after we die, we just take our last breath, close our eyes, end of.

But that doesn't bother me, the way I see it our lives are all crap anyway.
All we do is work, pay tax, die.

Sure theres the bits in between that we are suppose to enjoy, the holidays, the blowjobs that sort of stuff, but other then that what else is there?

So this whole life thing is a load of shit, theres no real meaning to it, theres no end result except death, theres nothing at the end of this shit, other then an inheritance tax bill to pay, thank fuck I wont be there for that.

SO death doesn't bother me, because life is meaningless.

Fear what happens up until the moment you die. Fear the manner of your death.

I'm not afraid of dying. In fact, I think I've died several times already.

It's not death, it's suffering, and a painful life is a manifestation of a suffering soul.

A suffering soul will continually manifest painful lives.

I think it's cause most would rather be doing something than nothing at all aka being dead.

Because the animal part of us is hardwired for survival. I remember being born, I arrived with the umbilical cord around my neck, and I remember feeling strangulation...I gave in to it until some part of me that instinctively, ferociously sought breath...we're both animal and human, and it takes the development of our humanity to overcome an animal's natural fear of being eaten.

I'm actually alright with it. I had a crazy year filled with existential dread after a cancer diagnosis. I got over it. I'm happy to be around and I'm doing things that I love to do, but I don't really fear death anymore. I'm still curious, though. About what will happen after....
