The school district said that if drugs or alcohol were found on a students test, they would be suspended...As if students WANT to be at school. Do they really think this is a punishment or infact LEGAL? What a joke my state has become. There is a private interest group funding this measure, that's for sure. The companies that will be involved stand to gain a lot of revenue through conducting the thousands of drug tests and also from the mandatory counseling. |

Someone's company stands to gain a lot of capital through conducting the thousands of drug tests and also from the mandatory counseling. Tons of money for some fatcat with his hands in the "Drug rehab" industry to make. I enjoy that parents brought up the question that if the students should be tested so should the teachers and the administration said no we will NOT test the teachers. I can GUARANTEE there are plenty of teachers showing up to work hung over from the night before on account that I work for the state installing breathalyzers into cars for people with DUIs. I have many school teachers in my shop Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist. When you find a piece of shit along side the road and you poke it with a stick, what do you expect to find inside of it, gold? No, it's just going to stink more. |

Oooo well that makes sense. Suspended them from the sports teams that keep them busy after school so they have nothing to do now and can smoke even more pot and drink even more alcohol than usual. Very smart thinking process behind this idea Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist. Very smart thinking process behind this idea IDK, it would suck being the star football player then getting booted off for being drunk. I like the idea, I'm surprised parents were against it. There should be a penalty, just like how some work places require drug testing or they get fired. School should prepare them for the real world.
