Video below is supposedly of Hastings running the Santa Monica Boulevard red light, SOUTHBOUND on Highland Ave., heading towards Melrose, “seconds” to maybe a couple minutes before the crash, according to the video and the LA Weekly article below.

However, the witness in the video above, who saw the impact and the moments leading up to it, says Hastings had just crossed Melrose when he crashed, which means he was heading NORTHBOUND, TOWARD Santa Monica, not away from it. Did he U-Turn after passing both the Santa Monica and Melrose intersections, or is the car blowing through the red light in the video not Hastings’s car?
