On the ground in South Florida and yes, the Nogs are all over the place saying they are going to kill Whitey and Hispanics.

The only part of your supposition that I must respectfully disagree with is the idea that "civilized" people want to engage in gun battles/shoot-outs with street thugs.
"Civilized People" do NOT want to harm/kill anyone. They just want to be left alone to live civilized, law-abiding lives. I fear many will die just wanting, hoping, wishing, asking - maybe even pleading - just to be left alone out of a sense of "live and let live."
Ain't gonna happen. It's obvious reading the latest blogs/tweets coming from animalistic subhuman-types who walk among us with NO SENSE of right/wrong, law/unlawful. They are itching for a fight, for "blood-letting" in the name of Trayvon....thinking that somehow this is justified/right.
It's not. Innocents will die. Tragedies will occur, families will be harmed for life.
Any why? Because some street thug thought he was tougher than the well-meaning neighborhood watcher who just wanted to help his neighbors live in a safer area? Because the neighborhood watcher didn't have more a second or two to think through the ramifications of his actions for his family forever after that night? Or didn't think he had any other options for his own safety?
Do I think that makes GZ a hero? Hell, NO!!! I wish he hadn't done what he did, not because I think Trayvon was just some innocent young kid. Just b/c of how much it fucked up the REST OF GZ's life - and his family, and how much it has -and will - affect all of us, one way or another going forward.
The real take-away here is that guns DO cause harm.
Please, please, DO NOT assume I hate guns, or that I am one of those "take everyone's guns away" types. I AM NOT. I DO own weapons, and would NOT hesitate to use one, if I were in a situation like GZ found himself. BUT - the take-away here is that there WILL BE LIFELONG CONSEQUENCES for those actions, like it or not.
It isn't as simple as, "I fired because I feared for my life," case closed. This will be with him in one way or another for the rest of his life. I hope to NEVER be forced to use my weapon to take another's life. I don't think I would want to live the nightmare GZ is finding himself in.
So, long-winded as that is, I was just trying to say that if rioting occurs, and I am forced to shoot at someone trying to harm me or break into my house, this incident may actually make me think more than twice, rather than just randomly fire off a couple. This is a living nightmare for him. I'm sure there are "alone" moments when he wishes he could have done things differently.
