what are you chains?
We all are addicted to something. What is your vice?
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

Qarley - this is something - earlier today I wrote you a karma heart comment, really thinking about you, and got back the auto note that I was out of points - and here you are. After so long. So glad to see you :)

I hope you're well! and not feeling bound by 'chains'. First thing I thought of was pain meds for your neck - but hoping you are completely healed from that terrible ordeal.

My chains . . . I would say my emotions. They pull me under sometimes when I should be functioning at 100%.

Running. Getting outdoors before dawn and gulping in huge lungfuls of the stillness. Percieving every nuance of air, from the cool of the low places, to the breezes in the trees. Trotting down the street by moonlight, before anyone else is rousting around.

The idea of being comfortable in a sleek body, trotting easily while others have not even roused to lumber around, out before anyone else even wakes up. Ahead of the game, so to speak.

Oh well my 'distraction' - I have been accused of using music to escape. OK that's true. And I do love my vodka sodas :)

My emotions definitely fuel my addictions. And actually despite my history and as bad as physical therapy hurts ive had maybe 3 pain killers in the past 3 or 4 months. So good to see youre still around

Thats what i find interesting wether or not its a healthy addiction we all have them. I am in the process of converting my unhealthy addictions into healthy.

Those of us who have been way down that bad road of unhealthy addiction -- alcohol for example -- are the ones who cling to dear life to and embrace the proactively healthy addictions most intensely.

We are looking for whatever it takes to feel right in our own skin because someway, somehow either Nature or Nurture did not equip us well to just feel just plain 'okay'.

Find somebody way into the deep end of fitness and extreme sports... there is an addictive personality.

Some fitness freaks never went through the phase of being addicted to anything bad... but most of us have. That is what makes us so fierce at what we do now.

Im at work so my responses have to be short. Is there a way to cleanse one self of all addiction. Or is addiction just part of being human?

Beer. I don't drink it to get wasted. I like a nice buzz, and it just tastes so darn good. Blue Moon is my favorite!

Oh, and there's those darn ciggies I keep smoking. I am down to 1 cig a day now, but when I go out to the bars on a Friday or Saturday night, my 1 smoke a day plan goes flying out the window with the billowing smoke of another lit cigarette.

I guess my next question is what fuels the drive....the addiction...the hobby ....the need for pleasure?

Re: what are you chains?
Ok so tonight I have spent the best Saturday night ever drinking red wine, smoking weed with my headphones in singing along to my favorite tunes. Some may see my wine an weed as chains but I see them as an escape from the chains of real life, music allows me to escape and wine and weed chill me out, the real addictions in life for me are a need to suppress who you really are to conform with society.

I like information.

Not sure I have any vices tho.

Do not drink, take drugs, smoke, and have not drunk caffeine in a month or more now.

I love to eat, but not fat.
