the law is gona pass and they are not gona sell it to people out of state.. just watch.. your gona have to live in the state to enjoy it

I thought that would be a rule as well, unfortunately that would kill a lot of business for them though.

But these new laws specifically state the amount OUT OF STATE residents can buy per visit.

Not saying they may eventually change that, but as for now Amsterdam West is open in January!

I guess they are looking for something to make up for all the money they are gona lose when hunters stop going there.. Give up hurts to gain pot heads..

I was reading an article about this topic the other day. Aren't all of the cities and local towns/municipalities going to have to vote as to whether or not they will allow retail/recreational marijuana sales in their jurisdiction? I read that some votes were taking place this summer.

What areas of the state are expected to ban or prohibit retail marijuana sales? Any of the larger cities/towns?

Why would Colorado see more drug dealers because of this?

People are going to be frequenting licensed businesses to purchase their marijuana. They won't be interacting with street dealers who are likely to also be selling other illicit substances the way they had to in the past. If anything I suspect that more people will shy away from alcohol consumption and using other drugs and migrate towards legal marijuana. I believe over time this will be looked upon as a wise decision for the state.

Yeah I do believe its up to the individual counties as well.

I think Boulder is the only one set to be ready for January.

I wonder how driving under the influence will effect the state's coffers? How will a police officer know for sure if someone is driving while high, the same way as a DUI with alcohol? (walk a straight line, breathalyzer?)

Does any tax money go to the Feds?

IMHO...a small step forward for the pot head and a giant step backwards for society.

Your comment makes no sense, and is in fact the opposite of reality.

The drug dealers will no longer have business in Colorado, as people will be getting their smoke legally from distributors.

In essence, the surrounding states will be getting the drug dealers from Colorado! You're welcome.

Stop being so dramatic! Have you even experienced pot before? Don't speak for everyone, a lot of people can function 100% normally after ingestion.

Yep!

Why buy it from the shady man in the shack when I can go grab my groceries and green at the same place!!

And think of all those young kids who were gonna just buy pot but went to their dealers and found they had access to pills, coke, etc..

Now they go to the bud store and get what God made, nothing else!

Tried it once...made me sleepy and slowed my responses. A lot of people, the majority, also function differently, ie slower.
