Anonymous Coward User ID: 41192566 United States 07/02/2013 03:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If one wants guns just take a trip to AZ and buy all you want from the backpages. You can buy an ak-47 or tec-9 for under 400 bucks no questions asked. Same with ammo as those prices are dropping. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42634636 What I am curious about is each store can only sell you 1oz at a time max for resident. Whats to stop someone from dropping the oz off at home and hitting up another store? I foresee massive stockpiling :D Bwahah. Also hemp production, sales of plants *you can have 3 flowering and 3 not as of right now legally*, seeds, etc. This is the only benefit right now for being in Colorado. The state becomes livable when you are high all the time. Beats drinking thats for sure. Different grades of the weed will be available. You will be able to buy pre-rolled cigarette styles, economy RYO tobacco equivalent *think top or bugler in the bag*, schwag *still gets you high for cheap. Schwag economy will prolly run 30 for a quarter oz of buds and upward for higher potency. Interesting times. I doubt they would sell the "schwag" grade stuff it will be all uniform quality as best as they can make it. Smaller popcorn buds and stuff will be used for extracts and edibles most likely. . . And low grade stuff is like 20 a quarter right now for mexican bud, the legal market has to be cheaper than black market. They better not plan on selling ounces for any more than $150 because it is outdoor, and the quality is in no way going to be comparable to proper home grown stuff from the best clone plants. If prices are too high it just boosts the black market, which is what I expect to happen in washington if they go ahead with their insane pricing scheme I read about. |

Quoting: chazbone Pretty big move! Looks like out of state residents can buy up to a quad @ every visit while in state people can get a nice OZ! Look to see Colorado's economy take a nice little bump after January. When will the rest of the country wake up to the Green Revolution! Yea! Right on! Now we can give up our guns, get High and forget about the problems that are consuming our world. So what are you doing about those problems? Nothing? Well that puts you in kind of the same situation, except you are also miserable and stressed. Have fun with that. |

Researchers found that dopamine levels in a part of the brain called the striatum were lower in people who smoke more cannabis and those who began taking the drug at a younger age. They suggest this finding could explain why some cannabis users appear to lack motivation to work or pursue their normal interests. How will a police officer know for sure if someone is driving while high, the same way as a DUI with alcohol? (walk a straight line, breathalyzer?) Quoting: MichaelRB IMHO...a small step forward for the pot head and a giant step backwards for society. Wow... You know there are states with Medical MJ already in place, so they know how to deal with these issues. You really think driving stoned is a national issue that will affect society? Stop being so dramatic! Have you even experienced pot before? Don't speak for everyone, a lot of people can function 100% normally after ingestion. Don't believe everything your DARE officer teaches you... Tried it once...made me sleepy and slowed my responses. A lot of people, the majority, also function differently, ie slower. That is exactly WHY I use cannabis...better than Prescription sleeping pills! |

Smoke up, Johnny. Can they repeat this study with non psychotic people? I know the British are obsessed with the reefer madness effects of "skunk cannabis" but this is stretching: Although we only looked at cannabis users who have had psychotic-like experiences while using the drug, we think the findings would apply to cannabis users in general, since we didn’t see a stronger effect in the subjects who have more psychotic-like symptoms. This needs to be tested though. |

Quoting: chazbone Yet your bitching about guns on a pot thread? Definitely need to toke up, might loosen that stick in your ass. We've been fighting for gun rights here in Oregon. The NRA did not speak up when they came for Cynthia Willis, don't complain when they come for all the "caffeine abusers".... [link to watchdogwire.com] However, due to the current state of Oregon law, those with a medical marijuana card are not permitted to purchase guns. An Oregon Supreme Court case in 2011 spotlighted a related issue, when 54-year-old Cynthia Willis, an avid shooter who also uses medical marijuana to treat her arthritis, appealed her rejected application for a concealed handgun permit on the grounds that Oregon laws on concealed weapons overruled the federal laws. |

Colorado is just going to be a low hanging fruit for the feds. Why would things go any different than the direction things have gone in Cali? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 41860308 we have been doing the open weed thing for a long time and things are being shut down, regardless of the laws on the books. The feds will draw the money out in the open, let people get comfortable, then they'll slam the trap door. that's what happens when you keep electing socialist cretons to state government instead of patriotic americans. A patriotic state gov has full authority to tell the feds to get lost and not set foot in the state. You'll see what the future holds. You have to recall that Cali did this open weed thing first, we have lead you into this new frontier. The same thing will happen in Wa and Co that happened here with the feds. Your government people will not risk prison to defend your dope smoking ass. The new generation of weed smokers/growers are shitbags with no respect for anything but rap music- most people get sick of their shit and want them out. Dope growing has caused much trouble in Cali, and guess what? The feds never left... check out lostcoastoutpost for some stories on why this legal weed won't be around too long, just long enough for feds to take money and jail some rich brats. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 42711789 United States 07/02/2013 05:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That may explain why you are against legalization. [link to www.allgov.com] On Tuesday, voters in California rejected a proposal to legalize marijuana for people over the age of 21. Proposition 19 lost 54% to 46%, with 11 of the state’s 58 counties voting in favor and 47 voting against. What may appear surprising to many people is that three of the counties where a majority of voters opposed legalization were Humboldt County, Mendocino County and Trinity County, an area, known as the “Emerald Triangle,” that is most dependent on marijuana as a crop. Yes, it’s true…many marijuana growers voted against legalization |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42697725 Exactly my first thought... weed ok, guns, not ok. But if everybody could grow and smoke freely, we wouldn't need the guns so much. Peace I have often pondered the hypocrisy of the government on the sale of tobacco and alcohol and the banning of weed! Here in Aus. they openly tell you that smoking tobacco will kill you or disfigure at the minimum in the most horrific ways but if you want to smoke - that's your business. They complain HEAVILY about the effects of alcohol and violent behaviour and how their police forces are constantly being tied up with alcohol related violence and issues - yet if you wish imbibe - then do it responsibly! But OH NO! You can't have the evil weed! In QLD and most other states of Aus. you can't grow it use it or have it in your possession! And if you do - we'll come down on you HARD! How many alcohol parties end up with violence of some sort - even if not reported? And how many pot parties end up in violence.......? Quoting: MichaelRB Ummm maybe the social costs out weigh what the individual (pothead) gains? Alcohol bears enormous "social costs," yet it's legal. I told my kids that I'd rather they smoked pot than drank alcohol. Do the research or fuck off. |

I'm happy the laws are changing for those who enjoy the buzz. I look forward to the day when I can legally grow a marijuana plant because I think they're beautiful. From a horticultural outlook, it would be a focal point of any garden. Just to raise one of those plants from a seed, watch it mature, that would be so cool. “So comes snow after fire, and even dragons have their endings.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit |
