Re: Slooshing oil in your mouth?
Olive oil is very good for this. Make sure its fresh, and not gone rancid. You only need a generous tsp of it. Floss 1st, then Swish for at least 20 minutes. You can do this after every meal or at least 2x/day. You can do other things, like shower at this point. Spit in toilet, it has bad stuff from your mouth and glands in it. You can add other oils to it to calm irritation or prevent infection as desired. I have added Seabuckthorn seed or fruit oil to it, and that would be a good choice to swish (instead of olive oil) if you had surgery or pain. It is good for damaged and burnt tissues or nerves. You can also add lemon balm/Melissa tincture or oil to the mix to calm the nerves. I have also used lavender and chamomile before to calm myself. Adding a drop of parsley hyssop, or thyme would help disinfect and freshen. With the essential oils you want to be careful not to use more than a drop or two. Afterwards you can brush your teeth and rinse with a jet. Cavities will mysteriously disappear, and pain magically decreases. I almost had to have a root canal for a nicked nerve, and then I discovered this. I think it makes me feel better all over. I think it even takes away cravings for bad food...

It's called oil pulling. Use Sunflower oil.

To fight sickness you could even add a drop of silver or grapefruit seed extract to it.

Re: Slooshing oil in your mouth?
I have a background in Biology and science and I looked in the research databases and found research confirming olive oil stood out in particular, and was of interest for further exploration as an additive to dentrifices (toothpastes) of as a rinse because of the positive effects observed in their studies.

I know that others use sunflower, and different traditions suggest different oils. May I suggest that the oils can me mixed or different ones tried.
