Sadly, it seems that many people do not understand the rights afforded to citizens under the constitution. The officer in charge should not be fired, he should be sent to prison, as should these school officials who used laptops to spy on their students.

If there were mass riots and protests, people who are in a position of authority would go to prison when they violate the civil rights of the citizens., but I believe they are not likely to be charged, and the plaintiff will just get a settlement.
