The veteran reporter was photographed by his colleagues having a bandage tied around his head, with blood on his face. He tweeted after the attack: "Thanks for the messages. I've been hit by a couple of shotgun pellets. Am fine and heading out."

His last message on Twitter, before he was hit, read: "Tear gas fired by army at crowd that had gathered around the body of dead protester."

It's called being "peppered". It hurts like hell but it's not
the worst pain you'll ever feel or anything. It's nice to see a tough reporter doing their job without complaining and keeping their cool. Good stuff.
