Was math discovered or was it created? Does math exist outside of the human brain? Essentially asks the question if math exists in the natural universe or if it was created by mankind as a system of understanding, explanation, and definition. One of my favorite quotes from the video. From cognitive linguists George Lakoff and Rafael Nunez. "Math is able to model regularities in the universe which are not inherently mathematic, but are modeled and understood through math by humans" Another interesting quote "The only math that is known by humans, is the math that is knowable by humans. Mathematical realism boils down to a kind of faith. A faith in a mathematical entity, or set of entities, which is out there in the universe waiting to be discovered, and would be there regardless if there was humans or not.
