Why doesn't the Illuminati/Freemasonry have double agents?

How come no one who sits most high in these lodges/secret societies divulge in their secrets? How come no one spills the beans on the true esoteric meaning behind their symbols? I see a lot of talk to where the "ignorant" masses need to wake up and see what the elites are doing, but why don't elites "wake up" and really expose what their organizations are doing?
