This guy obviously didn't have GLP and the internet to help him...I have to say, I got some pretty amazing advice from my fellow GLPers! and without that advice, he might not have made it thru the night
My friends, we are all living in extraordinary interesting times. The events to come will undoubtedly be some of the most important in our history. Embrace the change to come.

I love you all!

This past New Years day my wife and I were driving to my daughters when we came across a young Galah in the middle of the road. He had been hit by a car and had a damaged wing. I was worried he would get run over so got out to move him off the road, however he wasn't in a hurry to go and allowed me to pick him up. Seeing he had a broken wing, I took him home and put colloidal silver on the break and open wound and because we have other parrots, we had a cage to put him in until he recovered. However, he can no longer fly and adopted us quicker than we adopted him. He is very much a loved and loving little Galah and wanders around our place and outside following us around. He wolf whistles and a few other things and doesn't want to go anywhere. He is part of the family now and is doing his best to try to talk. Rocky is his name.

Gosh, it takes all kinds.

GIve it a rest.

OP - you did everything you could.

Maybe you are in the wrong profession -- maybe you need to go to vet school and help all animals.

Maybe it was a sign.

Or maybe nursing school.

Whatever, you are a good guy and remember, as my dad would say

Don't let the bastards wear you down.

OK guys I got a final update for you! I took the bird out to where I found him in a cardboard box nest I had rigged up yesterday. When I brought him out I fed him some blueberries and strawberries, which he eagerly devoured. Then I moved the box next to a tree. He started chirping away. A few minutes later I heard two other birds calling to him. Then isaw his parents flying around near him. They perched on a branch above him.

He was trying so hard to get out of the box and I finally stepped in and scooped him up and set him on the ground next to the box. He immediately hopped over to some bushes and his parents flew over to him and started feeding him.

Once I saw that he was happily reunited with his family, I left.

I am so happy that I was able to help him and reunite him with his family. This has truely been a wonderful learning experien and I'm very greatful this little bird came into my life, even if it was only temporary.

Thank you everyone who came to this thread! Thank you for your advice and kind words! I couldn't have wished for a better outcome!

If Nature is God, even if you believe God created Nature - Then understanding nature is to understand God - You are a Saint.

What is a miracle?
It's when a mysterious, unexplained force lends you a life saving, helping hand.
They say they are performed by Saints. To that bird, you are an unexplainable mysterious life saving, helping hand - your a saint helping the creatures cause.

Nature most certainly is not God. However, the scriptures say that He does notice even the falling of a sparrow.

As pathetic as this sounds...when I was video chatting with my best friend a little while ago, we were discussing Woodstock, and I ACTUALLY started crying! I already miss the little guy! I hope he is doing alright!
