Anti-depopulation technology: 'Water chip' can desalinate seawater with electrical field!!! All that we need: - This new desalination breakthrough - Some battery breakthrough using grafene, to have small, low weight, and very energy dense batteries - Cold Fusion, thanks to Andrea Rossi and the E-Cat Welcome to a new era. Masons can shove their depopulation plans up their asses. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43401563 ![]() so you solved the energy crisis ? Not me. Andrea Rossi did. With the E-Cat. So, now we just need a new battery technology. Desalination will not be a problem with this new tech, plenty of drinkable water to everyone. ![]() |

Anti-depopulation technology: 'Water chip' can desalinate seawater with electrical field!!! 'Water chip' can desalinate seawater with electrical field Quoting: Anti-depopulation 43401563 Scientists desalinate seawater with "water chip" and electricity, set to scale up with help of startup. An international team of chemists has introduced a new method for the desalination of seawater that consumes less energy and is dramatically simpler than conventional techniques. The new method uses a chip to create a small electrical field that removes salts from seawater, and requires so little energy that it can run on a store-bought battery. “The availability of water for drinking and crop irrigation is one of the most basic requirements for maintaining and improving human health,” said Richard Crooks of The University of Texas at Austin, who led the research with Ulrich Tallarek of the University of Marburg. Researchers applied 3.0 volts of electricity to a small plastic chip filled with seawater. The prototype "water chip" contains a microchannel with two branches. At the junction of the channel an embedded electrode creates an "ion depletion zone" that increases the local electric field compared with the rest of the channel. This change in the electric field redirects salts into one channel, allowing desalinated water to pass through the other. Crooks and his colleagues have so far achieved 25 percent desalination. Drinking water requires 99 percent desalination, but scientists are confident in their "proof of principle" and say full desalination can be achieved. The technique, called electrochemically mediated seawater desalination, is patent-pending and is in commercial development by startup company Okeanos Technologies. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43401563 ![]() Have you seen the TV show 'Gold Rush' ? How they dig up like almost every piece of land in some areas, often up to 30 ft down, and wash the dirt to find gold.. Well their operation cost them like $1000 a day in fuel costs (for a small team). If they don't find gold to cover their cost, they don't dig. Guess what will happen if there's free fuel? When everyone has more money to spare, (cheaper production of items due to cheaper (free) energy and lower utility bills among other things) they will consume more. Just look at the US. Americans use the most energy per capita and produces most trash per capita, and they use resources from all over the world in order to do that. Just because you can consume, doesn't mean you should. There won't be any need for money in the future, in my opinion.. People need to grow up before this tech can be readily available, but maybe it is getting time.. |
