Obvious hate crime but if I were at ground zero with a bumper sticker like that I'd not only make sure I was concealed carrying but had my hand on the butt at all times entering & exiting a place.

Not excusing what happened to them, & it's a damned shame but looks like they fell asleep at the switch.
