Very neat for you!! “Expectations are the root of all heartache” "I like all of the races, even the bad ones." |

What conspiracies or worries freak Czechs out at night? I lived in the Czech Republic and speak and write Czech. You have a very Czech name by the way. I liked the place. I thought the language situation was difficult. For example if you go a couple of hundred miles to the north you hit Poland, if you go south you hit Austria or Hungary (Hungarian is like no other language, you can't understand anything at all). If you go east you hit Slovakia or Ukraine. Slovak is pretty similar though. That was the biggest issue for me. I had not problem speaking to people in Czech, but I wanted to travel and having to deal with German, Polish, Hungarian and Ukranian was too much. The Cezch really don't like certain foreigners. Esepcially Russians. They aren't too big on Americans either. With a name like Janek I think you could get by as being Czech if you speak the language. It's still pretty communist, they don't like capitalists very much. |

We have a 400 year old house in the mountains, children speak 4 languages and attend good schools with real teachers, our neighborhood is a tight community and the unemployment rate in our town is 5.9% I could go on an on. I am saddened every time we go back to the states and thankful that we live here. The family and community models in America are breaking down, my hometown is more a ghost town and ghetto town with every visit. Do it. The hardest part is getting up the nerve but once you've committed, you make it work. |

Really interesting story of how the Germans were tricked into retreat to avoid battle. The liberation day is celebrated proudly each year with US flags flying from all government and many private buildings. Hundreds meet in town, old timers pull out their Willys and stories abound. |

Hmmm... I sure met a lot of Czechs that didn't like Americans. They were still mad about NATO (they view NATO as being entirely American) bombing Serbia/Bosnia. I liked the Czech republic for the most part. They're smart people who didn't fight in WWII, and all of the history there survived because of it. I know you guys hate Russians with a passion though. We would integrate 100% and be Czech patriots. I'm mostly Czech ancestry and the rest a mix of other Euro countries. Do you forsee the Czech Republic being over-run with immigration from the third world like England or Italy? We have a close "from Italy" friend, she's very liberal but hates how Italy has changed. She says we're stupid for moving to Czech Republic because it will be changed like Italy. Is that true? How free and safe do you feel there in the Czech Republic? |

I definitely agree that the US is heading in the wrong direction. No doubt about that. I didn't see a lot of immigrants in the Czech Republic. Their immigration is pretty strict I believe. I had to get essentially a green card (they call it povolani k pobytu) and it was difficult to get and renew. I knew some people who couldn't get it after I left. I think you might be talking about the Muslims moving into Europe? I saw absolutely no Muslims there at all. The only major foreign group I saw there was a bunch called "Romany", they are kind of like a wandering nationless group of people that steal and cause lots of problems. There are a lot in Italy too. I think if you can get a job over there and if you speak the language and have roots it would be a good move personally. |

Quoting: Janek No 35,000 drones in the sky, tyranny, etc.? I think it is more stable than the US. I think the US will have major problems within the next 6 months. I'd say the Czech Republic is a much more moral place as well. The morals in the US have completely disappeared. I don't see it getting better anytime soon. |
