You know what pisses me off more than anything? When people say, "Just legalize it and tax the shit out of it."

How bout legalize it and DON'T tax the shit out of it. It's called personal freedom. We should try it out some time. It's a cool concept.

The reason for the Feds unwavering stance on marijuana is very simple: you cannot have a war on drugs without it. Period.

Without a war on drugs you cannot have the following:

1. A reason to violate the fourth amendment during vehicle and stop and frisk stops.

2. An unprecedented private prison population.

3. Nearly a hundred billion in law enforcement per year.

4. Massive inflation of what would normally be cheap substances, providing funding for organized crime and illicit black ops.

5. Unbridled asset forfeiture laws which allow the theft of real property where the burden of proof rests on the victims, not the thieves.

6. Destruction of the social fabric via police state measures, and destruction of the family unit via incarceration.

7. Unprecedented levels of drug use. Prohibition in every case actually increases drug use, as well as deprives funding for treatment while increasing funding of enforcement.

8. Corruption of local, state and federal officials through extortion, bribery, and back room deals.

9. The complete overloading of the Justice system from lawyers, judges, prosecutors etc. This prevents real crime from being caught and prosecuted, while the judges put Joe pot smoker in prison. This is the exact same as during prohibition.

10. Prevent people from using marijuana for medicinal purposes.

I live in wa state and work in the cannabis industry.

I know of 2 of the places, and both were a bit sketchy.

The story said there were only 3 raided after 2 year investigation.

My guess is they were diverting product to non patients, or other states. There are 400 dispensary and delivery services in seattle. More than starbucks...lol its not going anywhere.

Fuck the evil empire.

Also Obama only said he wouldn't go after users/patients. Which was bullshit rhetoric because the feds never go after users, they only go after dealers/growers. But yeah as long as they can get a jury that will be willing to convict, they'll continue to try to prosecute.

"After the 1937 Marijuana Tax law, new DuPont “plastic fibers,” under license since 1936 from the German company I.G. Farben (patent surrenders were part of Germany’s World War I reparation payments to America), replaced natural hempen fibers. (Some 30% of I.G. Farben, under Hitler, was owned and financed by America’s DuPont.) DuPont also introduced Nylon (invented in 1935) to the market after they’d patented it in 1938."

"1937 when cannabis hemp for fiber, paper, dynamite and oil, was still legal to grow and was, in fact, an incredibly fast-growing industry."

We now live 'after' 1937, and who's destroying the earth and people? Global pharmaceutical and chemical corporations.

IF YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT HEMP, KNOW YOUR and maybe a bit of the world HISTORY FIRST:

As someone that has lived in Humboldt and the Triangle for decades I agree. People that plant tomatoes don't need permits and taxes, neither do backyard hop farmers.

Fuck taxes.

All you bozos in Wa and Co will learn soon enough. Cali did it first, and best- look at what happens here to see what your future holds.

Don't trust your local government because the feds will threaten THEM with charges if they don't sell you out. They won't protect you. You really want to rely on government?

If CAMP, or CERT isn't flying years ago, expect it. Yea, they might only point a video camera and machine gun at you from a black, unmarked, chopper- but sometimes they will show up, too.

Don't think the bank tellers aren't getting spotting sessions.

Don't think people don't notice your windows are always dark.

Don't think it won't happen, because sometimes it does.

Good luck.

Re: DEA RAIDING medical marijuana dispensaries in WASHINGTON state
Well this is certainly a waste of the taxpayers money.

I have heard of no real problems due to marijuana being legalized in Washington state. It's not like there was some huge spike in crime or anything.

I feel another 7 to 10 states will legalize marijuana in the next 3 to 5 years.

People who are being raided in these federal raids need to be non-violent and know that the Feds are just making themselves look foolish.

If any of these people who were raided, wind up going to court, no jury should convict them.

You must have been bowling during Civics class.. Fed law does NOT override states....at all!

Geez man, catch up with the herd:

Here's YOUR VERY OWN 10th Amendment that was presented to you as a blood gift by your predecessors:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12407897

This is correct but unfortunately no one pays attention to the Bill of Rights any more.
