TSA left something strange in my luggage.

Weird! I wonder if there is a message there. I can see it happening once, but twice, the same thing, on both legs of the trip. Just strange!

Looks like ordinary seeds. Is it possible that TSA is testing new equipment for detecting plants and herbs inside people's checked luggage. I can think of them being interested in that capability.

I just returned from a trip to the east coast. I flew out of LAX. Nothing unusual, standard security procedure. The flight was ordinary, no problems,

I arrive at my friends house, she takes me to the guest room, so I start unpacking. We are talking as I unpack. I am about half way done when between 2 tee shirts I find 2 sunflower seeds still in the shell.

My friend and I figured the TSA guy that went through my luggage probably dropped them out of his shirt pocket. We were both a little disturbed by the thought of this guy going so thoroughly through my luggage that he leaves sunflower seeds between my clothes.

After unpacking I had a little garbage bag that I put the seeds in and threw it away.

Great 10 days, then time to return to Los Angeles. On the last day of my trip I did all my laundry so I would return with clean clothes. I emptied and shook out my suitcase before neatly packing all my clothes.

When I arrived at the airport, again, another uneventful bag check-in.

When I arrived home and started unpacking by luggage, half way down, again between 2 tee shirts there were 2 sunflower seeds.

Now they did not seem to dropped, but placed there. What are chances of this happening twice on the same trip, both legs of the trip. And at different airports.

Again, the second set of seeds were most definitely placed there.

I naturally thought that my friend was playing a prank on me, but nobody had access to my luggage from the time I packed until I handed it over to the TSA.

I called my friend to tell her what a funny joke that was, knowing she didn't touch my bag. She had no idea what I was talking about. She's not really the jokester type.

I have never had sunflower seeds put in my luggage before. I also haven't flown in a couple of years. Does everyone who checks in bags now get sunflower seeds placed in your bag?

Those sunflowers look like bird food seeds not the kind they sell for people to eat.

I am an artist, and I just came down to my studio to do a little work. First thing I saw is this painting I am working on. This piece is large, about 7 feet wide. Maybe it has something to do with this.

I mentioned this to a friend, who is a TSA agent. Not sure if she was joking but she said its a signal to other TSA agents when the luggage is scanned. She said the seeds would show up during an screening of the suitcase. I asked what they "signaled" and she laughed and said she couldnt tell me but "not to worry".

I ten said if they can stick seeds in someones luggage they could put anything in there and she said TSA would "never do anything like that".

TSA has been contracting out to Squirrels. Nothing to worry about.

The shells don't look healthy. They are very small and look deformed.

I'd get rid of them and not plant them. What if they are poisonous and you kill bees from it.
