I was just a kid, probably in the mid- later 70s.
That's Canadian dollars too.
I use to think, 'that sure is a lot of money(.10 cent) just for a slice of cheese difference'.
Never ate the Biggie Macs so don't know the price.

I remember when chocolate bars were .10cents(and they were big full size)

12 pack case of beer was only $5 ( then one day they went up to $8 overnight) that was a huge increase I was 14 yr old.
13 oz Micky of whiskey was $5
Cheap for what booze in Canada is now by comparison.

I remember in the mid 70s a pack of smokes 25 pack was .95 cents.
I was about 8 years old and could easily walk into any store and buy a pack with a pack of matches no problem, no questions asked.
You could actually buy candes with .05 cent change.

I know some of you are older and remember cheaper prices

If I had a time device, I would go back about 50-100 years and EAT! :) lol.

I'd make stops along the way to get older and older money, but man, starting with what I have now and going back then, I could eat like a king and the food would probably be amazing, with taste and flavor and nutrients!

In 1980 an oz of weed was $80
1/4 pound was $275 and it was usually compact like a brick, if you got that size.
The hash never seemed to change price.
It was $60 a 1/4 and I think it's still $60 a 1/4
difference being that back then it was red leb or blonde.
you never see that hash anymore. It's only ever black.

In 1979 here minimum wage was like $2.80 an hour
I worked as a dishwasher at a local restaurant here and the owner would pay me $3 hr. I only discovered what the minimum wage was by accident after talking with the waitress and she had told me that she only made $2.80/hr ( I couldn't believe I was ,asking more than her)

That summer I got to work at my dad's employment, in the factory and I was making $5 hour. None of my friends believed me that I'd be paid so much for being only 12 years old. It was an assembly line that made vinyl wallboard.

The food was actually food and it had substance, even McDonald's.

In the 70's
We (family of 6) had only one (1) TV, and it was black and white.
There was only 3 channels plus one French channel and that was it.
Then we started hearing about this mystical thing called cable.
It was like angels singing!
First my grandmother got it, wow! I practically moved in with her that very day! Every weekend I stayed over for the weekend. It was magical.
Cable though, was only an extra 3 channels plus our existing 3 channels plus one French. Still, it was truly amazing.

Movies back then, Didnt take very long to go from big screen to Friday late night double bill on television.
Saw all the uncle sorted great movies that way back then.
I was only a kid.
It took many years for my parents to finally get a color tv and cable,
once long after everybody else already have it did my parents finally get it.
I was teenage and Didnt care at that point.

I remember when KFC was really good chicken....I tried some recently and gagged.......

I remember penny candies....cops that actually walked a beat and everyone in the neighborhood knew him by name....I remember doctors making house calls....holding a girls hand is the same as getting a blow job today....when mobs of kids didn't try to beat people to death....when people actually interacted instead of staring or typing into a little screen....people were skinny and poor people were even skinnier....

The past sucked.

Jk, we've hit a low point a few years back and have been going down ever since.

The food is fake, the people are fake, the news, the president, the government, the weed, they're all fake.

That's the "real"ity we live in.

Fuck.

So I just smile and pretend, like the rest of the world.

political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
