Not a silly question at all...

I don't juice the rinds for orange and grapefruit, in part because once I remove the rinds I can fit the fruit whole into my juicer, which seems to give best results (more juice). I do leave as much of the inner white pith as possible.

I do juice lemons and limes with the rind as they fit in my juicer. Especially if using organic produce, it's my opinion that the rind is usually good for you - loaded with vitamins. Experiment with different produce, see how it tastes, combines together, and of course how it makes you feel :)

Fresh juice in my diet has definitely helped me detox, lose weight and improve my health. Thanks for the thread Angelic_Warrior, I'm looking for some good recipes too!

I have tried a month of it. It tastes good and provides a good energy boost. But I eventually started blending my own smoothies with fresh fruits and hemp protien for about 1/10th the price. In other words...it is effective but not as effective as fresh produce. And it's expensive as hell.

I could slice the oranges and grapefruit to include rinds but, my juicer seems to yield less juice when the fruit is sliced compared to whole. I juice apples whole, and when I juice greens like kale or spinach I often wrap them around a carrot - again because it seems to help make more juice. Let me know if you try the recipe, straight orange juice is great but I like the added taste of grapefruit too :)

OP, a favorite of mine is"

a fresh whole pinapple
oranges (five)
celery root (small)
kiwi (six)

The celery root (as opposed to the water-logged stems) puts a rocket in your pocket and is chock-full of zoom, zoom stuff. The above makes enough juice for my family of six.
