What's YOUR Favorite "JUICING" Recipe??

DON'T JUICE!!!!!! Blend!! I'm serious. The pulp that is left over from juicing is EXTREMELY nutritious, why not consume it? I just blend shit up, is faster, has less cleanup and more nutritious.

Ok.. So I just pulled my "juicer" out.

Bought it a few years back at an estate sale.

Promptly brought it home and stuffed it in a closet

It's an Omega.. and I wasn't sure it would even work.

(Was only $20.. and looked like new)

Interesting you mention this. As I just did my FIRST EVER JUICE .. I was watching the pulp ooozing out wondering if I was supposed to throw it out or use it for something else

I would imagine tho it's pretty well depleted? Maybe you could make some pulp chips or something? I dunno .. I'll save it until you or someone else addresses this.

Breakfast juice (makes about a quart):

1 granny smith apple
1/4 of a small personal size watermelon, including the rind
1 big slice of fresh pineapple
1 big handful of concord or black grapes
1 red grapefruit
1 chunk of ginger (to your taste)
spoonful of flax seed oil


Dinner juice (makes about a quart):

several carrots
several celery stalks
1 cucumber
greens (such as spinach, chard, kale...to your taste)
handful of Italian parsley
1 yam (optional)
1 parsnip (optional)
1 medium garlic clove
1 small chunk of onion
2 tomatoes
1 granny smith apple
piece of jalapeno (optional)
add a sprinkle of sea salt or Himalayan salt if desired

I also have an Omega juicer. Got in on Craig's List several years ago and it is still going strong.

I hear Peter North only juices with celery... lots and LOTS of celery.

Ok.. well it sounded interesting until I googled the guy.

I did juice cherries once and it tastes great. But be careful, those pits are rock hard, they broke off a small plastic piece on my juicer. It still works just fine, but I would take the pits out first. I believe the instruction booklet even says to do that.

I did remove the pits thankfully! Mixed cherries with oranges. Yummy.. this is going to be alot of fun.

I like having control over what and how much I put into the juicer

Apples
Pineapple
Ginger
Carrots
Beets
Oranges

Blend all that up for a tasty drink...don't be freaked out when your pee is pink after a few hours. The beets do that.

Oh, and throw some chia seeds in there too when it's done and let them sit.

what type of juicer are you using. I hear centrifugal juicers only keep fresh for 24 hours or less.

Thanks for the thread OP! I too am starting the whole juicing thing. I need to shed a bit of weight and load up on good stuff from fruits and veggies. I'm tired of taking vitamins, I just need to drink em!

I use the nutribullet everyday...

My favorite

1 - 2 leaf of kale

4 dandelion leaves

1 whole mango peeled & sliced

1/4 cantaloupe cubed (no rind)

2 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp honey

1/2 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp superfood powder (comes with nutribullet)

1/2 cup to whole cup of vanilla yogurt

3 tbsp Water or soy milk

Put in nutribullet and enjoy :)

If I'm craving something sweet before bed I will just add yogurt, honey, cinnamon and soy milk in nutribullet for a perfect dessert.
