My great grandmother passed last night. Advice please?
It was my grandpas mom, she was 96 and passed peacefully in her sleep. My grandpa is taking it pretty hard, and I'm not sure what to say or do. I've never lost anyone close to me before (Lucky, right?) I love my grandpa and I want to console him but I don't know what to do :(. Does anyone have any advice for me or ideas on what I could do to make this difficult time easier for him? Thanks in advance for any help, it's very much appreciated!

just go and be there for grandpa

have a cup of coffee with him, and let him talk about his mum.

96 is a very respectable age to live to!

She obviously left a legacy of accomplishments, yourself included, and seems to have been a wonderful woman...

So how about instead of being sad over her death, you two try to focus on celebrating a well-lived life lived long? We all must die, but not all of us have the luxury dying old and in our sleep... you should both be sad, yes, but also thankful and proud.

well just hear him out, dont draw him out.

Let him talk of his mother (or in-law), in time past if he desires.

Just be there as another post said. To pass peacefully in your sleep at the age of 96 is quite an achievement. applause

assure him that it was Gods will that she be taken to allow her to escape those things to come. had she remained throughout the time of the antichrist she most likely wasn't prepped spiritually to overcome the massive deception which will be allowed to overflow the world. in other words if she was right with the Lord at present tense He didn't want to subject her to that which would likely cause her to fail to overcome, as the churches of today do not teach those criticalities necessary and/or required to do such.

either way it was a blessing, one for which since he clearly loves her he should be most grateful in no uncertain terms.

to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord, and the instant that occurs one is no longer confused or frightened as their full recall awaits them in the spiritual sense.

on the other hand if he just wants to be with her, should she have failed to overcome, he can rest assured that she will be returned to the earth at the onset of the Millennium to receive those teachings which will afford her the opportunity to do so at the end of the upcoming Age, which will constitute an interim period between our present tense and the final judgment which precedes the Eternity.

those that failed to overcome during their walk in flesh are awaiting being returned to the earth to receive that which will be offered them during the Millennium Age, at which time all hereupon will be in the same type bodily forms as are all they who have passed from life as we know it into that which we call death.

my condolences to you all, I know she will be greatly missed. in putting her first however, such was indeed a blessing.

Allow him 30 days to grieve his loss, after that he can console himself with the knowledge that he is not far behind her.

She has left behind something for him,
something of his that she had kept through the years,
it was a gift to her, think it may be a sketch or painting he made when
he was quite young.

Relive the happiest of times with her and let him remember and laugh at the good times. She will always be with him in his memories. My Grandmother was 103, passed away 15 years ago and I still find myself laughing at something she said. I asked her why she thought she lived so long, her reply was "I don't know, I just keep waking up"!He has to be thankful for the long time they shared.
If you break my wings, I will just find a cloud and learn to fly again. The Lord will catch you when you fall or teach you to fly! May the footprints I leave lead you to BELIEVE.
