Astonishing 68m-year-old fossil of T-rex and Triceratops locked in mortal combat could fetch a record $10 MILLION at auction
The remains of two dinosaurs that were perfectly preserved in a bitter fight to the death are to be sold for a record £6 million.

The fossil of the 68-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus and a Triceratops locked in mortal combat were discovered entirely by chance.

They are said to be among the most important dinosaur discoveries of all time.

Very cool fossils in spite of the misleading article title (NOT your fault, the link got it wrong) about it being a Rex and a Triceratops.

It was accurate:

The dinosaurs have since been identified as Nanotyrannus lancensis, a close relative of Tyrannosaurus rex, and Chasmosaurine ceratopsian from the Triceratops family.

Just think for a moment, how do dinosaurs instantly die in mid animation?

Bad journalism, both died from battle wounds, not in mid combat. Daily Mail...

I gave you the quote, obviously I read it.

People have no idea what Nanotyrannus lancensis is, therefore it is accurate to say T-Rex as it's very similar.

It's not misleading at all.

Nanotyrannus is a genus of tyrannosaurid dinosaur, known only from two juvenile specimens, which are possibly juvenile specimens of the contemporary species Tyrannosaurus rex.

The primary differences that some scientists have used to distinguish Nanotyrannus lancensis from Tyrannosaurus rex primarily concern the number of teeth.

So it's the very same, with less teeth, but you think the article is misleading.

Based on only 2 specimens, it would seem equally logical these are T-Rex infants, that have yet to grow their adult teeth.

so is the bible. except for the bit where god kills billions of people, and the bit where god kills babies, and the bit where god sends a bear to kill 42 children, and the bit where he allows people to kidnap women and rape them and force them to marry them, and the bit where god forces his son to suffer extreme pain to save people from sins that god created.. i could go on..

Really I was thinking 8' they have something wrong here. To me that would have been a great find if it was those two. The Triceratops is my fav and was really interested in seeing this. Was disappointed to see that it wasn't them. If it was I could see alot more than 10 Mil for that, still interesting.
