you are all dumb thinking it's the moon....i live in wa, just went outside to check, and the moon is like 5 times bigger than this and isn't at all red...

I have been making post about this all week! i live 30 min north of utah in Idaho! I could not take pics so no one cared, glad some body is paying attention besides me and my neighbors!

do you know what a 'point and shoot' camera is?

those lil cameras the size of a deck of cards.... also smart phone cameras... etc
they a piece of shit when trying to take a photo of the moon...

they will make the moon look like a street light on 'film'

The Rockport Fire is burning right now in Utah. The sunset was really cool tonight and lastnight, with the sun being really red in color. Actually, the second sun was pretty red too. That might explain the red moon.

Dude its the moon, There is a huge fire in Utah right now and its reflecting from the moon if that makes any sense. I live in Salt Lake City as well and seen this the past few nights

Yup. It is setting now and very intense orange. We've had a wild fire over on the western slope but I sure didn't think it was that bad.

Lots of fires here in Utah. Have pics of the sun from the last few days descending through the smoke. Pretty sweet when everything around you has a red hue. From my locale the moon is SW when looking out my window with a orange-ish color, probably due to the fire in Skull Valley which has been acting up, filling the western sky with smoke. And as far as size goes, it's a camera phone.

Call me nuts or whatever, but just went to walk the dog the moon is only half full, barely lighting one side of the sky, then there is something behind the clouds to the very opposite side that is lighting the sky. It isn't city lights were we are. Going to get in car and find out
