Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4991783 Then a bit later on the radio one night I heard W announce the "war on terrorism". It sounds so stupid, one obviously cannot declare a war on an idea. But he did, it was intentionally an illogical concept, so he could use it to do whatever the fuck he felt like. It was like the government became a big baby, dangerous to people inside the country and lethal to some outside in for example Iraq. A terrible temperamental crybaby with all weapons up to nukes, and making no sense at all. I thought "so this is what a tyrant is." And Obama is just a continuation of it. As Jimmy Carter said, we no longer have a functioning democracy. The country has more or less gone to hell. I very much agree, however Carter should have said "a functioning democratic republic". That makes a big difference...pure democracy is not what our founding fathers had in mind when they drafted the constitution. When 51% can control the other 49%, that is nothing more than mob rule. Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty ~ Thomas Jefferson |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 12118332 United States 09/05/2013 04:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Matt Drudge, the founder of the enormously popular conservative news aggregator DrudgeReport.com, tweeted today that since there are no real differences between Democrats and Republicans the only two real political parties are Authoritarians and Libertarians. Quoting: dawnie "It's now Authoritarian vs Libertarian," Drudge tweeted. "Since Democrats vs. Republicans has been obliterated, no real difference between parties..." Drudge also asks his followers why anyone would still vote Republican. "Who are they?!" he asks. "Raised taxes; marching us off to war again; approves more NSA snooping." Is this a turning point for conservative politics? Is the Liberty Movement of peace and privacy set to be catapulted into the mainstream? I'd say he's right on.
