The carbon tax is a sham argument. Only the biggest polluters pay it, and we all pay a slightly higher energy price because of it. The price rise was minimal and compensated for all but higher income earners that can easily cope. It happened to come at the same time the electrical grid needs upgrading , so prices rose... alot, but NOT all because of the carbon tax.
The idea behind the tax was to incentivise companies to invest in cleaner energy technologies so that they don't have to pay it.
If you vote Tony Abbott in he will get rid of the carbon tax and replace it with his direct action policy of paying your tax money to the same high polluting companies to 'help them' invest in cleaner technologies and thus reduce pollution that way. Your energy bills will not come down in price. These companies will pocket the dollars, 'investing' in technologies that they dont want to work because what they want is to keep qualifying for the direct action money. The incentive is for them to keep polluting and asking for more taxpayer money.
Think hard, polluters pay the carbon tax or your tax dollars do... plus slower internet, NO Thanks!
