The Ultimate SHTF Property and its For Sale

That sounds incredible, sounds like another ultimate spot, but what about sun doom wouldn't you just be scorched.

The high water line is about 4-6 ft higher than it is in the pictures...

Some serious precautions should be taken if you were planing to build inside...

Also, the water from the outside flows right in...

2 considerations for this are flash floods and outside contamination...Whatever is flowing in the stream is flowing into your living room...

However, this is a great place, with some money and a little ingenuity it could be an underground paradise...

Oh and I wanted to add that the erosion on the columns show that this place has seen a few flash floods...precautions should be taken...

Wow, cool observations I wouldn't have even looked at that, so you thnk the blue water indicates contamination also, would you think the other water on the property is ok though, just curious. I guess I would have to build up on the cliffs until I could figure how to use the cave other than for doom protection.

Also, if you read the auctioneer's dicslosures from 2006, it states that most of the tracts across from this one have already undergone 'soil work', while this tract has not. What kind of 'soil work' and WHY has not been specified.

These are the keywords and observations which red-flagged this for me:


100 year flood plain,
Soil Work
Mining Interests,
Obvious man-made cave,
Affidavits regarding old leases
Road and power line easements
Sellers are not PRESENTLY receiving any funds from any type of oil, gas or mineral leases.

Well, since I am not buying I do not need to do any research, but, I think a potential buyer better.

I can't afford either, but it does offer everything you would need to protect yourself from all doom. And I just thought the "cave" was spooky cool, 30 feet deep, pitch black.

While I am not familiar with the area...A few things I would look at are the annual rain fall in the area, and ask locals about the mining in the area or the assayers office...

Also if water contamination were in question I would have it tested, a local college or the County extension service may do it for free...Heavy metals i.e. lead, mercury, arsenic are the worse to address...A distillery should take care of those, but all the water would need distilling even for the plants...

Again I think it would be a great place, the water can be contained and filtered...The flooding "may" be controllable...that would certainly be an issue to check into...Oh and whether the water stays or flows through...


If the shit were to hit the fan as it were, the creek flow would need to be halted before the creek is contaminated from external sources...of course depending on the scenario...

All caves are 56 degrees at all times.. damp and chilly .. not good for housekeeping..

I thought about buying a prepper property.. Then thought, after TSHTF I can live anywhere I want, and I might want to stay mobile..

While those are great issues to look into...Some may not want the amenities that civilization has to offer...With a little (obviously considerably more than less) work this would make a great Bug Out Place...Or better still "Bug Inn"...

However, I agree with Morgan, do your research on any property you plan to purchase...

Don't get me wrong...I think it looks amazing, and would love to camp there, explore the cave and such.

But NOT drop a half billion dollars to own 12 acres. We could probably do better, caves and all.

No, I agree I've seen more acreage for a lot less dollars, beautiful land, but I think it tougher than one thinks to find it with caves in it maybe I'm wrong. It seems like caves are always on federally owned land, state parks, and what not.

why are the ceilings of the cave so perfectly flat, they look like they are finished concrete in fact
