Interestingly, he was born outside the USA to a mother who was a US citizen, and is therefore claiming that this makes him a "natural born American" and eligible to run for President. Sort of like Barry Sotoerno, but that's different. Yeah, he was born outside of the USA to a mother was a US citizen, and the Tea Party went after him for not being a natural born American and therefore ineligible for the presidency. But he wasn't Ted Cruz. So it's different. And what does Donald Trump have to say about that double-standard? Appearing on “This Week,” Trump, who has famously questioned the validity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, was pressed on whether Canadian-born Tea Party firebrand Cruz is eligible to hold office as commander in chief one day. “Ted Cruz, born in Canada — is he eligible to be president of the United States?” ABC News host Jonathan Karl asked. “Well, if he was born in Canada, then perhaps not,” Trump replied. “But I’m not sure where he was born.” “He was definitely born in Canada,” Karl said. “Okay, well then you will have to ask him that question. But, perhaps not,” Trump said. [link to www.theblaze.com] |

[link to www.theblaze.com] Although there are similarities -- and I can't wait to see how the Trumps and the Tea parties respond to them -- a lot of the 'birthers' are focused on the apparent forgery of the birth certificate (and selective service document). Also note that there are valid questions as to if Barry gave up his U.S. Citizenship at some point. When it is all said and done -- do any of us really believe that Cruz is going to be a serious contender for president? The guy just seems a bit too creepy for me. If he was managing funeral parlor, I would not think twice about it -- but president of the US? Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

Quoting: The birthers are focused on ignoring anything that contradicts their bizarre conspiracy. There's as much evidence that he was born in orbit as in Kenya. With all evidence pointing to a Hawaiian birth. And 'some' similarities? Everything they accused Obama of are actually true in Cruz's case. And it still doesn't matter. Natural born citizenship is simply citizenship at birth. Also note that there are valid questions as to if Barry gave up his U.S. Citizenship at some point. Quoting: Gave it up when? You don't trip and give up your citizenship. There was a Japanese American who sent a letter to the US 'renouncing' his citizenship. He then went to Japan and fought for the Japanese and killed US soldiers in WW2. And we *still* recognized him as a US citizen. You don't lose US citizenship until the US says you do. And its not 'accidental'. Its a long and explicit process with a shyteload of paperwork. And the US never made that determination for Obama. Nor is there any record that he even asked them to. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 45398486 Thailand 08/20/2013 04:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | GOP Canadian-born Anchor Babby extraordinaire Ted Cruz (R-Calgary) is trying to put a new twist on an old favorite. Birthers!!! As our rude upstairs neighbor, Canada regularly shits its worst turds upon the United States (Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne, The Biebs), but this is an unfortunate new low. However, Cruz is having none of this ‘born in Canada, therefore a Canadian citizen’ stuff. Apparently, just like the U.S. of A (#1 bitchez!!1!), anyone born in Canada is automatically a Canadian citizen and is eligible for 40 melting glaciers and a moose. This creates Prezzy ambition issues for Cruz: "However, The Dallas Morning News reports that under Canadian law, Cruz’s birthplace of Calgary also made him an instant citizen of Canada. Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier disputed the notion that Cruz was also a citizen of Canada." Apparently, you can ignore Canadian law as long as your spokesperson ‘disputes a notion.’ Good to know. I would still like to see Cruz renounce his Canadian citizenship, and he is indeed a Canadian citizen because he was born in Calgary and was then automatically a Canadian citizen. Otherwise, it will be difficult for him to run on the Renounced Foreign Citizenship ticket with Michelle Bachmann (R-Switzerland). None of this even matters, since Cruz does not have three dragons born of fire, making it very unlikely that he will ever cross the narrow sea and sit upon the Iron Throne. |
