This reminded me the river of the underworld/moon named lethe/amnesia where the ancients described all souls are required to drink from that river before they are reborn. Similar thing was shown in bioshock infinite in paradise booker got drowned in the water and then he woke up in a place he didn't know how he got there!

The name of that clip stranger reminded me also in i am number 4 movie sarah/medusa had a website named "strangers in paradise" where she was putting everyone's picture there and when she was taking pics of 2 kids she said "those are 2 of my victims".
