The math just doesn't add up.

Here it says these restaurants had a combined profit of $7.35B last year and they employ millions of people.

So, if they paid an extra $3.25 per hour, assuming full time, to only one million of these employees, their profit would drop to zero.

Then, there would be no McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Papa John’s.

Well, OK, maybe that's not such a bad idea after all.

Today, right at this very moment, thousands of workers in cities across the country – from Los Angeles, to Peoria, Hartford, Tampa and many more – are on a National Strike against low pay.

Help us send the fast food chains we work for a message that they can’t ignore. Add your name to our open letter to the top eight fast food chains, right now.

Here's the letter:

To McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Papa John’s:

We have a huge economic problem in this country. It's you and the rest of the fast food industry.

Together, your restaurants employ millions of people. Millions of people, mostly adults, who can't afford rent if they want to eat. Who can't afford health care if they want to pay their bus fare.

Millions of people, and more than 25% of them are parents who can't afford school supplies if they have to buy school shoes.

Last year your combined profits were $7.35 billion. Yet you still paid most of your workers less than $11,200 a year – poverty wages. It’s shameful. And outrageous.

We're speaking out together because it has to change.
We’re rising up as Americans to say it’s no longer a matter of WHETHER you will raise wages; it's a matter of WHEN. Your companies can do this right now – you have the power to raise wages for your workers today.

Are you mad as hell, like we are, at the fast food chains who are paying poverty wages?

Then add your name to our open letter and spread the word about the National Strike.

In Unity,

It's going to change in a couple of ways:

1. Marginally profitable stores will close and all their employees will be unemployed

2. The rest will install order kiosks replacing all but the cooking staff...again, more unemployed
