Dream- Chicago Destroyed by Lake Michigan Tidal Wave
I had this dream about a month ago. I was facing east around 2-4 PM or so and I saw a giant tidal wave 20-25 stories high roar through Chicago and demolished buildings in its path. I was aware before the dream some Chuck guy had a similar dream so I may have been dreaming based on his dream, but this dream was very vivid.

Hopefully the GLP effect can kick in.

If there's an earthquake, it might be. It would have to be powerful enough to sink the ground slightly. Unlikely yes. Impossible no.

The question is, why is Obama's DHS running earthquake drills in Chicago over the past 3 years? Earthquakes are possible in Chicago.

I have had a similar dream, also. The timeline for it seemed to be further in the future though so I think it is a couple of years away.

I seem to recall Chuck saying the earthquake would come before a Russian invasion and/or Middle Eastern War. I don't necessarily think his timetable is inspired by God, but that's what he said. I too agree with you and think it might be 1-2 years off. If I had to guess summer 2014...but I don't like date setting and it's only a wild guess.

Another person here had a similar dream several years ago. It has to do with a 2nd wave coming in, where the waves from Lake Michigan rise up.

Strange that so many are having a similar dream.

Maybe we should give pause to these . . .

Here's what's really trippy...years before I had this dream, I had a dream of what I now believe was the aftermath of this tidal wave. It was a very vivid dream. It was night. Overturned cars were on Lasalle street, a massive UFO flew overhead, and there appeared to be some kind of war going on/civil unrest.

Here's the really disturbing part. The dream showed a glass building that wasn't built yet and was a fast food restaurant. Within a year, the glass building was built. Scary, right?

I never realized this many people were having the same dream. Is there anyone else who had this dream who can give us more details behind the tidal wave occurring? I recall in my dream it being sunny out and the time being 2-4 PM or so based on the position of the sun. The time of appeared to be summer or early fall. I recall the trees were green so no massive piles of leafs.

For mine it was definitely winter. There was ice on the lake, but not all over, if this makes sense? It could have been late fall, I guess? I don't know, I'm not from Chicago and know nothing about it. It was sunny.

Yes, my dreams of this telling nature also have an "ET" element to them, which invokes a bizarre lucidity to the dream itself; almost a feeling of awe mixed with actual fear.

The details are fuzzy, but I might have an old dream journal around.

The main theme for the past couple years has been undeniably focused around "water doom."

I can't help but also think fallout, or something going wrong with a nuclear power plant in the area.

Re: Dream- Chicago Destroyed by Lake Michigan Tidal Wave
Your dream caught my eye. You see, I too had a similar dream, however, my dream was the aftermath of a horrendous event in Chicago. I have no reference to Chicago except that I visited there once long ago for a work conference.

So, in my dream I was attempting to get to a high school for some event (not sure what). It was probably around later afternoon, early evening. I was driving myself to the high school. I drove up onto the highway and there were these menacing, dark dark clouds ahead of me. I was sitting in traffic on this highway. The cars were like a parking lot - noone was moving anywhere. Then, I looked onto the road in front of my car and realized that the road was totally wrecked (pieces of debris and broken concrete were in the road, exposing holes and reebar (? - metal underpinnings?) below us. The highway was impassable.

In the dream, I thought to myself, "My relatives are not going to get to the high school, and neither am I." I felt like all was so devastated. Everything looked dark and charred and broken.

I woke up at this point. When I reflected on the dream I felt that I'd been on that highway after a devastating event. My first guess was an earthquake had happened, thus impacting all of the skyscrapers in the distance (I could see they were devastated in the distance as I sat on the highway). I also considered that it might've been an attack of some sort. I saw no fire, but it could have been after the fire had happened.

So, I've been very upset about this dream and was looking on YouTube and all to see if there was anything about an event such as this in Chicago. I did find one YouTube video whereby the dreamer showed exact visuals of what I'd seen in my dream. I will have to find it somewhere so sorry that I do not have the link. She was talking about a terrible military attack I recall. I had this dream 3 months ago and I felt that the event was during the fall of this year (2013) but I could not be sure. Timing is always tough to figure out.

I have since had 3 other earthquake dreams: 1) in Asia - I felt I was in Japan. 2) in Boston, MA where I used to work. I rarely have earthquake dreams and I did have a vivid dream of the Japanese earthquake and Tsunami about a month prior to the actual event on 3-11-2011. I also had an earthquake dream about 1 1/2 months ago that I thought might be in California or Washington State. I felt like it was the most devastating, vivid dream I've ever had. One could say that it will happen based on my previous precog dreams that I've had all of my life. However, one might argue that it's personal upheaval that is causing my subconscious to create these nightmarish earthquake dreams (times have been tough in my family). But, as my mom says, the vividness of the earthquake dreams are such that my record is that it may very well happen as I've seen the earthquakes in the dreams. God Bless and hope that Chicago will not be hit. With the world events that are currently transpiring in Syria and the threats of retaliation, the outside theory is that Chicago would be a primary target of America's enemies. Let's hope that I am utterly wrong. I've written alot because it's been bothering me for months now. Being a precog is no fun :(

My dream it was winter for certain as well. Snow on the ground, no leaves on the trees. I would guess very early winter, or late fall with an early snow.

It was set in Evanston, a familiar surrounding - I spent a few years living there.

I still can't help shake the fallout implications, or the possibility of something going wrong with a nuclear power plant or maybe even an attack? I do think it's set years from now though. But then again I had the dream a couple years ago now, so...maybe nearer then I know.

Considering I've had this dream a few times with some differing details, I feel it relates somehow to the Mississippi river. Everything was flooded out. Yes, I know it's not near the river, but it seemed it was related.

Same. I live in the northwest suburbs, and remember being part of a helicopter military team. We were in full fall out gear, searching for survivors. I remember it being very frightening - I think the scariest dream I've ever had - because I was in my neighborhood and everything was in shambled; not unlike you'd see after an Earth quake or maybe even the outskirts of a nuclear attack. I was trying to find my Mom. :(

Yeah really bizarre how closely your dream matches up with the one I had - I think perhaps it was in 2009 or 2010 when I had the dream.

The only other conclusion I can deduce or surmise, is perhaps the dream was really warning about Fukushima, but my subconscious could only piece it together with familiar locations from my child hood living in Evanston by the Great Lakes.

That may be a stretch, but when you read others having almost exactly the same dream things become flexible!

Last summer I began having more flooding dreams, which may not be related precisely, and lo' and behold this Spring it literally flooded by my house. De ja vu, to say the least: We had a major rain storm on June 26th 2013. Worst I've seen.

Re: Dream- Chicago Destroyed by Lake Michigan Tidal Wave
I had the Chicago tidal wave dream back in the 70's and it so impressed me I that I painted a picture of it which I still have somewhere in storage. In my dream the water only was three or four stories high and I was watching it from a higher view point. I also, throughout my life, have had related Chicago disaster dreams which I always thought were about the same situation.

The first one was when I was about 6 years old. I all of a sudden felt very weird. I looked up at the sky and all the clouds suddenly took a severe diagonal dive downward which was both incredibly awe inspiring and scary although I wasn't thrown off balance. When I woke up my first thought was that I didn't have to worry because that wasn't going to happen for a long time.

In the 90's I had a dream I was in a huge abandoned railroad terminal. It must have been in the fall because I could see my breath as I was running and there were ruined expensive commercial business type Christmas display stuff strune around. I remember looking at a turned over waving Santa with a slay full of gifts and being overcome with a very deep sadness that nothing would ever be the same again. (In fact, as an aside, that is exactly my first reaction on 9-11 and on that day I got a flash of this dream and my second thought that day was "It's started") Anyway the scariest thing in the dream was there were very weird ashes falling out of the sky everywhere which were in huge sheets. Some of them were a foot across but most of them were more like seven or eight inches. There have been many other dreams of that "event" to that I recall too vividly.

One of the most vivid dreams of my life was of a tidal wave event--in Memphis, TN. In the dream, it was something to do with the Mississippi. I dreamed I was coming out of a midtown bar with friends (wearing a jacket), and there was a wave in the sky, it was so large.

Does Chicago have a subway system with a Metro Center station? An Old Town area & Historic District and an historic Cathedral or very unusual old church? A large park with a decorative winding creek? This has been part of a recurring dream of mine since the late 1990s. Associated it more with WashDC than Chicago but the Great Lake just "rang a bell".

My only experience with Chicago has been the airports and RTC/NTC which is a bit away. That and the little town of Zion, and Waukegan.
