it was the price that had to be paid in order for God to have sentient human beings with their own free will. God desired a creation as amazing as the human being to fellowship with, that are aware to be able to come to know him and have relationship with. the drawback with freewill is all the problems we have today. God knew what would happen, knew how terrible it would be but it had to happen. fortunately this story has a happy and just ending.
