Hehe..It doesn't quit work that way sparky. The vast majority of civilians would not be killed in a blast. The vast majority would die slowly and painfully from radiation poisoning, starvation, and the effects of a nuclear winter. Of which there is a good possibility that it would simply turn into another ice age. As time went by the survivors would eventually revert to stone age technologies and society. Ah, let us not forget all hundreds of nuclear plants and storage that would add to the fun when they boil dry and melt down, creating large death zones for thousands of years. it really all is just a bad idea.
