Shamanism is the oldest form of spirituality of mankind. It's a pretty simple concept. Prehistoric man is wandering around nature and stumbles upon a mushroom/cactus/plant with psychedelic properties and ingests it. Has a profound psychological experience with underlying spiritual qualities due to the nature of psychedelic chemicals and the brain. So this spawns the beginning of shamanism/spirituality/art/modern man. It could even be seen as the "fruit" of knowledge. Which I agree due to my personal experiences with entheogens. The article is not finished, but it may offer some insight into this theory. I also talk about the influence of mushrooms and pop culture/videos games/ and etc. I am not saying this is a fact, but I believe it has weight and credibility if you can envision a caveman walking around nearly starving to death and then stumbles upon a psychedelic plant. Nearly all cultures have documentation of magical plants. Manna for example. You eat it and will see the glory of God. Soma in the vedic culture. And of course everyone is familiar with certain native americans and their use of peyote cactus, the aztecs with their use of magic mushrooms, morning glory seeds. Salvia in its native habitat is in cloud forest in the isolated Sierra Mazateca of Oaxaca, Mexico. The arabs and marijuana use. Not to mention the use of shittim wood in the bible used as a burned incense. Shittim wood has been translated as the acasia, a genus of tree that contains the potent DMT chemical which causes experiences with God/spirits/and transportation to the spirit world. And the list goes on and on. Enjoy the article thanks for reading. [link to thetruthawaits.com] I like your whole idea as I also have partaken in the little fungus from time to time.....but I believe the "mana" you speak of from God....was just food...you know..just to keep them alive imho...but I will read the rest of you article because it sounds interesting...thnx There are people so poor that all they have is money. |

I am in no way saying my theory is fact. But the description of manna is quite interesting. Its a food that grows from the ground, only lasts a few days, and then quickly rots. This is not the basis of my article. More of my article is about the video game Mario. The manna idea is just an interesting idea. Be good or be good at it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46473876 Yea probably so. I've never read any of his work, but I'm sure it's probably the same concept. Sounds like it. It is essentially the same. You can read about the stuff in Food of the Gods, True Hallucinations, The Invisible Landscape, etc. Hope I got those right. Forget which one it might be in, but they are all good reading. |

I wish everyone who was very seriously ready to commit suicide, would instead wait just one day longer, and have a 5.0 gram psilocybin experience (or ayahuasca, or ibogaine, or lsd-50, or a massive dose of ecstasy.) if, after taking a massive amount of the entheogen, the individual still desired death, then let them do what they want with their own life. But, I would imagine less than 1 out of every 100,000,000 who did the above, would still consider and desire suicide. The key to defeating the NWO/evil governments is to have everyone nin the world awaken spiritually. the best, most fun, and simplest way to do so would be for the worlds population to all have a dmt/psilocybin experience. there would be no more need for government, military, police, war, taxes, etc. thats why they are so strictly outlawed, and indeed, the U.S. government then controls the flow of the illegal drugs, to ENSURE absolutely that people will never trip in large masses, and awaken. the end. |

This man wrote a very interesting book, with references. The Sacred Mushroom and The Cross: A study of the nature and origins of Christianity within the fertility cults of the ancient Near East [John M. Allegro]. The "Three Wise Men" from the East were Magi, "Spice Traders", and reported to be traffickers in Psychoactive Substances. When you use the word Magic Mushroom, you are saying Mushroom from the Tribe of Magi. The Magi-ic Mushroom? |

Well people did trip in mass and look what happened. The hippy culture was formed. Hence why psychedelics were made illegal. The world ego couldn't handle it at the time. Maybe things will change, but I agree it would change the world for the best. Be good or be good at it. |
