Astral Projection
I have been attempting to astral project for a long time but while I was attempting to project yesterday, something strange happened. While I was focusing it felt like there was an earthquake. My body shook to one side somewhat violently I can't really describe it. This has rarely happened before. I'm wondering is this meant to happen?

Re: Astral Projection
Before your consciousness separates from the physical body, you'll usually just hear a popping sound, sometimes several times. Coupled with your mental state it's possible that you were imagining convulsions. It's normal to experience stuff like that.

Was it anything like the falling sensation you receive before waking up.

Internal vibrations... Sounds like an precursor to an OBE exit...

I don't astral travel so I'm not speaking from personal experience, but I've done some reading on this subject matter....

The falling/sinking sensation is also another precursor to an OBE exit.

May I inquire what method you are using to try to accomplish this?

Most of the time I use the roll out method

I've read about that. Can you describe it from your vantage point?

Something about envisioning yourself rolling over from each side? Does it almost become like a rocking/swaying motion? How long do you usually have to focus on this mental exercise before it starts to create these sensations/symptoms that you're reporting?

Re: Astral Projection
The vibrations are something you need to build, when they come again, focus on making them more intense, the vibratory state is one of the steps required.

Many different exit methods, roll out, pop out crown, out bellybutton etc...

That is basically what you have to do. It is not very often this happens. A lot of the time when i attempt to project, my whole body tingles after a certain amount of time usually around 20-30 minutes. However with this case, this rarely happens. I think it only happened 2 or 3 times before and I felt this within around 15 minutes or so.

For a conscious out-of-body experience the monad (self) must exit through the crown chakra. This allows the consciousness thread to remain attached so the physical body does not fall asleep. The physical brain remains connected to the remote monad, which provides real-time conscious awareness of the out-of-body experience and full recall afterwards. When out-of-body, our waking consciousness is no longer restricted by the etheric web or censored by the physical brain, so we can perceive non-physical beings and environments. The "silver cord" that out-of-body explorers often report seeing is the life thread or sutratma, which carries life energies from the monad to the heart chakra of each subtle body.

Re: Astral Projection
Yo have you read Blackmore's stuff on OBE's?

Also I recommend the Lucidology project, the presentation can be a bit... "home shopping network" but there's a lot of good shit about the body's physiological behavior during events like this and it really helped me grasp the actual processes going on in the brain when you're messing around with Hypnagogic states, remaining conscious during sleep paralysis (can be really fucking scary btw) and whatnot.

It's primarily aimed at lucid dreaming but there are applications for astral projection that work really well and the dude behind the project understands these two phenomena are deeply linked.

If you find the traditional meditative/mysticalish methods too much of a grind (and let's be honest, they can be really fucking boring and often results are painfully slow).

If you're just lying there, trying to basically will yourself out of your body using old skool methods (visualize, visualize, visualize amirite?) it's going to be a long haul before your body and brain figure out what it is you're actually asking them to do.

Anyway here's the link, I personally have had relatively impressive results when I factored this information into my efforts and witnessed the biological and neurological reactions and behaviors described in myself, good luck.

Thanks for the link. That's a pretty neat website that I'm going to explore further....

I read through the link you provided. When you said 'pop out crown' were you referring to a specific exit technique that you can describe, or alluding to the fact that conscious OBE's need to occur in that manner?

Is hard to convey, the vibrations start, you intensify them, and exit with the build, the exit is like shooting a ball out of a cannon, it feels like a swirl, like you exit in a vortex, yet spinning extremely fast.

Have not been able to do this in a couple of years, have some sort of block that I need to work through.
