Starlike UFO's, Have You Seen One?
I have had multiple sightings of a similar starlike UFO in the same area on various random days over the course of the last few years.

I have always just accepted that it must be a star until tonight, just after sunset.

I saw a similar "star" the other night very late and it was to the east. I watched it for sometime and it was so large the light looked like a small triangle several times bigger than Venus.

I thought whoa, this is getting out of hand but what to do to document this as these crappy cell phones and digital cameras are worthless pretty much when trying to take pictures of the night sky.

Well tonight this object was visible as the sun set , this time to the west. It was huge and low hanging, clearly not a star and seemed to be much closer, like in our atmosphere.

The light very much resembles the light of an approaching airplane. I live by an airport and I'm very familiar with that situation.

This light stays in place for significantly longer than an airplane, perhaps hours.

Anyhow tonight I paid closer attention and noticed the light slowly moving eastward and lower in the sky as it was moving away from me.

It is clearly not an airplane.

I actually decided to drive a bit to the edge of town kind of following it. It just kept moving off very slowly and the lights appeared to now have a yellowish/Orange tint.

Originally it was star white. Also I noticed some "venus like" slight pulsation to the light source as I got closer and noticed that it had changed color.

The only thing it could be that is known to me is possibly a balloon or blimp pretending to be a ufo. ..it sure had a powerful light though if it was... next time I will try to chase it down further to rule out hot air balloon or blimp hoax.

I am just glad I have finally got up the nerve to determine that it was not a star or airplane.

Truly a ufo! ..I took some crappy short video that is kinda visible because the sun was still setting, I will try to make a short you tube vid to share at some point. ..some decent still photos as well!

Has anyone else seen these Starlike UFO's???
(UFO's that you think must be stars but are to big and close and DON'T move like airplanes. )

Re: Starlike UFO's, Have You Seen One?
They are brighter than stars, but closer, and in our atmosphere like you said. The day after I saw the first one in July, I asked my friend if he felt like 'something big was coming'. I hadn't told him what I'd seen. He said no, but went on to tell me that the night before he saw that bright light in the sky the same time I did.

they will travel across the sky and then fade to nothing. sometimes I think they dart or change speed but my eyes could be playing tricks. I also saw one in daylight by the sun but it only flashed in and out a few times,so I'm not sure what that was. I've considered drones..

Holy fuck!!! Quick story, this took place maybe 5 years ago. On July 4th our family was celebrating having a BBQ. It was around 5pm. My 10 year old niece old was staring at the sky, then all of the sudden said "what is that flashy thing in the sky?". We all looked up and saw it after she pointed it out. My Dad (he was 68 at the time) went in and got a couple pairs of binoculars - came out and passed them out. We all spent 10 mins watching it. It hovered way up in the sky - i dunno, maybe 5 miles or so up.. you could tell it was big. It was diamond shaped (not the sideways as above <>, but upper/lower was pronounced). It finally just slowly disappeared over about 30 seconds. I didn't move much at all, but it was more of a small circular motion when it did. It was bright white around the edges, diamond shape, and IRIDESCENT is a perfect explanation!

My Dad always said that UFO's are bullshit, etc. After that day, he was taken back and now admits that "there is more going on in the world and universe then we understand".

This in a suburb 20 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah - the South Jordan/Riverton area where we observed it. It "appeared" to be over the mountains by University of Utah. But again, due to distance, scale, etc - cannot be sure.

The quoted explanation above was what we saw - and explained it so simply!

So what are "light-ships" aside from the obvious of what we saw?

Re: Starlike UFO's, Have You Seen One?
I saw something that appeared to be a satellite passing overhead, but it stopped and started to move in different directions. It would speed up and slow down, change directions, and finally disappear.

It wasn't a plane or helicopter... nor a satellite. It was the same size and brightness as a satellite. I have no idea the altitude, but it looked like it was waaayyy up there.

Another time I saw something that looked like a passing jet. You know how a jet looks when its heading your direction? The jets have some sort of light on the front. Well, thats what it looked like and it just stopped and hung in the sky. Once it stopped moving, it appeared like a normal star. I stood behind my shop for several hours waiting for it to move, but it never moved.

I have also seen several ORANGE lights, about 6 or 7 times. Most of the time they will appear in the sky and expand, then implode to nothing. They are perfectly orange. The largest one expanded to the size of the moon and quickly disappeared. I think the orange lights could be some type of atmospheric effect. They could be a form of "Earth lights"

I was out about a month or so ago and was looking at the constellation Cassiopeia and thought something didn't look right. There was a bright "star" between the stars Ruchbah and Segin that shouldn't have been there and wasn't moving but suddenly just winked out.

Thats kinda like what I have seen. The ones that I saw were orange. They look just like a bright planet. Sometimes they move and disappear. Other times they just appear and expand, then implode. When they expand, they are the most brilliant color of orange... its like a perfectly circular orange spot in the sky.

You may have seen something called iridium flare. Its a reflection off a satellites solar panels. I saw one of them and it looks like a moving star that sparkles for a split second.

I'm the o.p., here is a couple of photos of what I was looking at tonight during and after sunset. These were taken at sunset, it's easier to see the starlike image with some daylight available on the phone camera.

..and they still suck! The ufo seemed about 2 to 3 times brighter/larger than it appeared on the crappy digital camera.

I think it's still worth viewing if you take into consideration that this light stayed in one place for about an hour before moving slowly away towards the west. The light did not change direction, as it traveled away the light still faced me.

Yes.
About 3 years ago, me and my family went to an outside Mall in UK, after sunset.
My youngest looked up and said 'That's a funny star'.
It was like a huge star with rays of light coming from it.

So I got really angry with it (before I knew that not all UFOs have bad entities in them.)
I shouted at it 'To f*** off and leave us (mankind) alone'.

It then zoomed upwards and became a pinprick of light.

They can hear you, if you 'talk' to them.

It was not a planet and moved towards the west and descended as it slowly left. Also it happened again tonight. Yesterday it was in tge west. Tonight it was in the south. ..just as it was heading south it started flashing allot like venus.. just then another one appeared to the west and one to the north. Within a couple of minutes 3 or 4 helicopters scrambled off the military base at the airport and headed directly towards the objects and began circling the outskirts of the city.

The ufo's all left immediately...

I made a thread about it, I think you should check it out!
