This is what you don't know. There are more people who love the dogs than the ones who hate them.

In the past, when the law was not that brutal, the dog catchers were chased down by neighborhood gangs. Now, with this insanely stupid law (instead mass killing, we could had build more shelters, a better sterilization, easier law for stray dog adoption) I expect people to much more vigorously defend the stray dogs from dog catchers.

Now, they KNOW that the dogs will be KILLED.And they will defend them much better. This stupid law, as it is, cannot be apllied.


I know, back in 2004, when I had a dog, and living in the city, how special forces came to SAVE the dog catchers from the people.And than, the law was much more humane.

And now the dogs are the rats...

What is this city's alternative with these 64,000 stray dogs...

Exactly right. The government would not have a problem if the citizens didn't create it in the first place.

It is heartbreaking to know they will be killed but if there is a stray problem there is a dangerous situation especially for young children.

First, there are about 35,000.Secondly, a private shelter of 10,000 places is EMPTY, because the state agency did NOT took any dog there.

The good news (or bad) is that the animal doctors union announced that they will only put to sleep the very old dogs or very ill ones.

You want me to point fingers? will that make the stray problem go away? do you know what damage a stray dog can do when it is hungry, now imagine a pack of strays. It is ok you saying there are 10k spaces free for strays, what about the other 25k?
I have a dog, I love dogs but sometimesyou just have to see that something that isn't right is actually the right thing to do.
