How can you prefer them to just be killed? There is ALWAYS a choice, this in not the only solution.It is the simpler solution, yes, but the most barbaric one.

It's the best we can do when the problem has grown to such proportions. Barbaric is to leave them on the streets. I've seen two stray dogs die because of exposure to the elements... they suffered.
