Shithole Romania adopted mass stray dogs euthanasy

I will say this again, WTF happened to the man who used to actually use his brain to dissect political issues with such clarity and focus !?

Please, put aside the dreams of an ideal world and try to think clearly and realistically for a second...DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE there is any chance of "hanging the politicians, and elect HUMANE leaders" ??! Do you ? Cos if that were possible I would be 100% on board with that !

But can we focus on what actually can be realistically achieved ? So all the money to care for dogs in shelters are being stolen by corrupt individuals, what is our only alternative ?!!?

And also you seem to have completely lost any hope for humanity so I will tell you this as a father AND a pet owner :

If I had to choose between my 4 year old girl or any other child for that matter and ANY AMOUNT of CATS OR DOGS on this planet, I would sacrifice all the cats/dogs for my baby or for anyone else's baby !

That is called a difference of opinions. Mine is based on facts, yours is based on stories. That kid WAS NOT killed by stray dogs!

How can you not see that? In 23 years THIS is the first kid killed by stray dogs? REALLY ? We don't have stray dogs from yesterday man. We have them, in huge numbers, from 23 fucking years !

It is not the dogs fault they are abandoned and left on the streets, it is the humans who are the tossers and problem. Such a cruel nation, to treat their animals like this. You can judge what sort of person you are by the way you treat animals. In this case most of the Romanians must be CRUEL, HEARTLESS FCKEURS!!!

34% totally opposed this law

16% mildly opposed this law.

14% did not responded.


In total, 52% don't agree with dogs mass euthanasia.And yet, the Parliament, the Government, the Constitutional Court and the President didn't cared.

What you do not seem to understand is that I am not referring only to that kid that was killed, he may have died from any other reason, that was just the straw that broke the camel's back !

Hundreds of people go to the emergency room every day from dog bites nation wide and our capital looks like a zoo with coyotes running amok !

I myself have found myself in 2-3 times cornered in an alley by a dozen dogs without having previously provoked them and I barely escaped !

Don't you understand that something must be done to clear our streets of these wild animals, please stop focusing on that poor little kid and focus on all the suffering these dogs bring to us every day !

Also this will be my last post on the matter cause as you said I cannot change your mind about it but I do hope that one day you will regain your trust in humanity !

WE as a human race will make it to the stars one day, not dogs or cats so in my opinion human life should be treasured more than any animal even though some of us in the 21st century still act like animals...we will evolve !

You are right, there are way to many stray dogs.I know that.They are so many, that the confrontation betweem dogs and humans was inevitable.You talk about people bitten by dogs, yet you forgot to talk about the THOUSANDS of dogs who are poisoned, clubbed, hanged by "people".

I want them off the streets.You also want that.I wanted them to have a LIFE in shelters, with donations from the people, if the State does not care.Or to be adopted FOOR FREE, not for a fee, and it's not a small one.

You want them out of the streets even if this means DEATH.

Every law on this planet (except dictatorships) MUST reflect the reality. Any law student can tell you that.

Every country have their specifics. You cannot just apply an American or French law to Romania. Or Bulgaria. Or Russia.


The law they passed doesn't care about reality. We have over 200,000 stray dogs in Romania. They CANNOT be all adopted in 2 weeks. Or 2 months. It is impossible.

The ONLY alternative this law gives in DEATH. We have shelters that ere EMPTY. We have MANY people willing to donate so the authorities build more shelters and feed the captured stray dogs.


They want to solve a problem in a couple of months while the civilized countries took many years to solve. And they want to solve it with a massacre.

Sad shit..On one hand I love dogs. But 64,000 stray dogs in a city isn't a stray dog problem, it's a pest infestation.

At that point they're running around completely feral and disease ridden, very dangerous.

I blame the people of that city for allowing it to get to that point, they have left very little option.

On the contrary, this problem grew to such proportions precisely because Romanians were not heartless. They saw stray dogs, petted them, fed them. The dogs reproduced, Romanians didnt have the stone cold hearts to kill the puppies. They fed them. Puppies grew, reproduced, and so on... How exactly do you think 10s of thousands of dogs would get to live in the cities if the population was cruel and heartless? It was the failure of the authorities to do something about it, combined with the Romanians not being cruel that led to this. So now ironically Romanians have to take what could be called a cruel decision, but on a far bigger scale.

Oh, I got bitten, about 20 years ago. But that doesn't mean I want the stray dogs killed.

Based on your logic, we should kill ALL the people because, at a point in life, ANY HUMAN, in certain conditions, can become a rapist, murderer, thief, etc.

But, as you know, not all humans kill or rape or steal. THE SAME is true for dogs.

If you read carefully, I did say it is the authorities fault too. The shelter solution would have been feasible if the number of dogs was smaller. But at 10s of thousands of dogs I dont think the authorities can build dog farms near every manjor city. Or if they do I believe the dogs there would live in horrible conditions, overcrowded, little food, no care. And you yourself said better for them to be on streets than in such detention camps... so basically you have no viable solution.

OP, everywhere in the western world animal rights are protected and respected BUT NOT put before human rights and human society !

There are lots of animals lovers everywhere in the modern world but those animal lovers FIRST love their own children and families, in Romania people like you seem to forget this fact !

70k-100k dogs on the streets of a 2 million people city is a recipe for disaster and would not be accepted anywhere in the civilized world !

I have NOT forgot that our society put human right ABOVE animal rights. A human life (even if he is a murderer, thief, rapist, etc) is above a dog's life. Don't tell me that this is RIGHT! because it is DAMN WRONG!

Yes, a child's life is more important, but this means ENDING hundred of thousand of lives for ONE life ? I am not a religious person (barely went to church 10 times in 40 years), but all lives are EQUAL!

The fact that WE, the humans, think different JUST because we are the supreme form of life on this planet doesn't means we are SUPERIOR! If we cannot prove that we are superior...WE ARE NOT.


And this means MASS KILLING of stray dogs? As I said, EVERYONE wants them out of the streets.

That is as silly as OPie's position...

It is not 'all' Romanians...It is the ones that abandoned their pets to the streets allowing them to breed like rats, and it is the misguided but well meaning people that feed them on the streets without 'fixing' them or adopting them...

Making dogs healthy so they can breed better on the streets is idiotic at best, and criminal at worst...
