I assumed/correctly predicted my insane father was going show up there, even though parents weren't invited. They didn't let him in. Some HS teachers had to go outside and talk to him. They took a nonsensical letter and a pack of nonsensical business cards wrapped like a present for me. He didn't have visits with me and was told to stay away from me, because I didn't want to see him. But hey, that never stopped any stalker. Restraining orders came too late for me. I ended up taking a friend of a friend from another school and it was a pretty boring time. My husband happened to go to my school at the time, and we were sorta friends. Here he didn't have a date to the prom and wanted to ask me but was too scared. We ended up getting together after graduation. I still get mad at him till this day. To think of the memories and pictures we would of had if he would have ask me. I would have said yes, obviously. We've been together 20 years now and married for 16. vol002 |

I was and still am in many ways a socialite ended up at three proms my sophomore, junior and senior years and lived every one of them. I do remember I was dumped at one point right before one them, which year my memory fails me, but I secured another date with a friend and still had an excellent time. To the one that mentioned going roller skating that's another fabulous memory as well and thanks for that. Many,many nights spent in rinks. Life was simpler and safer in those days. |
