Re: Bump for Jesus
It is interesting that you can so quickly dismiss the ridiculous aspects of other religions, but some how rationalize the ridiculous aspects of your own religion:

God the father begets a son who is somehow also the father but at the same time not the father to atone for Original Sin. The father sacrifices his son, which is really him, through a brutal death, which really isn't a death at all as it only lasts three days, and thus achieves humanity’s salvation. But the son, who is also the father, rises from the dead like any good zombie does. And the son's really bad three-day weekend, redeems eternally all who accept and believe that the ridiculous story is true.

A reasonable person would regard this as fiction. You don't. Instead, you choose to organize your entire life around the ridiculous idea.

Ancient stories of being born of a virgin, rising from the dead, and performing miracles, are not unique to Christianity and are really quite common. That should make a reasonable person question whether the stories are true. Not you. You not only claim the stories are true, but you are absolutely CERTAIN of their veracity.

There are thousands of gods one could choose to worship. You choose to worship just one. But your god really isn't that special or unique. Most of the world doesn't worship or believe in your god. And when you choose to believe in the supernatural, there are no limits on what is a god and what is not. As you know, your god exists because you believe it does. Look at YouTube and you will see many other people that believe they are prophets of gods or gods with powers to heal, levitate, read minds.... These people and their claims are just as legitimate as your religious superstition - if you believe in the supernatural.

Religion has always been a means to control others just like any other dictatorship. Your dictator just happens to be invisible. But he watches everything you do, listens to everything you says, prescribes exactly how you should think and act, and threatens to punish and kill you if you step out of line. All of this is true of contemporary dictators and it is true of the "god" you blindly follow.

Unfortunately, you choose to live life in a world of make believe, where logic and reason have no value. So in your world, asking you what magic your god can do is a legitimate question. Most reasonable people would regard the question absurd. Not you. So it is unlikely you will realize that your superstitious beliefs are no different then those of clairvoyants, card readers, and medicine men, and that real dictators are just like your fictional dictator.

But thankfully, Contemporary religious superstitions are taking their last gasp of air and will soon find themselves keeping company with other ancient beliefs we now refer to as mythology. The strength of religions has always arisen from their ability to control the information, and in turn, the message. Without countervailing arguments, religions have made believers out of non-believers and kept the faithful content.

But those days are over. The digital/information age has ushered in the unlimited and immediate access to reliable information. At the click of a mouse, one can learn the intricate details of the theory of evolution or fact check outrageous religious claims. The curtain has been lifted exposing religions' logical inconsistencies. While "faith" was enough to satisfy the curiosities of primitive Iron Age civilizations, today's generation demands facts. And that is something religions can never deliver. So prepare to celebrate religions' death as it will finally free our civilization and allow it to move forward, unhindered by the dogmatic and irrational beliefs of ancient superstitious cultures. And that is why, globally, the number of those claiming to be religious has dropped by 9 percent from 2005 to 2011, while the number of people identifying themselves as atheists has risen by 3 percent.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47399356

I think a lot of the believing in Jesus comes from fear. His name was not even Jesus you might as well call him Bob.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47399356

this works both ways, brother...

Why the epidemic of fraud exists in science today
by Jerry Bergman

and I did not choose Christ out of fear, but because facts back it up, if you seek honestly and look at BOTH sides consistently. Evolution is a religion and as one who serves only faith in Christ, I find man-made institutions to all be corrupt, church and state.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34127820

Those who deny Christ have to explain why this world is designed by the dark compass and square of egyptian masonry and antichrist. Christ said this is not his Kingdom and denied to be of any portion of it in 40 days of temptation.

satan means adversary so the intent is to reverse what God did. Explain why the Georgia Guidestones are dedicated on Mar 22 (322 is the skull and bones number). The birthdate of Israel is May 14. There is 53 days difference. The darkside did this for a reason. Christ went into the earth for three days then was resurrected. He spent 40 days on earth ascended into Heaven and 10 days later the Holy Spirit came down, and the church was officially formed. How many days is that? That's right. 53 days. Then ask yourself why the satanic hq for the us is 666 miles from this Godforsaken monument. That is what is sad. Those who worship demons know he (Jesus) is real, and good portion of this world remains fooled into believing in nothing. Should I continue? There is a ton of evidence. The work is not over a generation or two. It is from the beginning of time. The kaaba stone in mecca is 666 nautical miles from the birthplace of Christ for a reason. The birthplace of hitler who used a Hakenkreutz (hacked cross emblem) in Branau Im Inn, Austria is not 666 miles from the center of the isle of wight which is a major European satanic center either. Do you think these things oppose a figment of their imagination? They know Jesus is real.

For you doubters, let me tell you I was one too. Then I heard the voice of Jesus. I was very sick and He told me something. 7 months later I was well, and I went back to work on 7/7, just 4 days later. I had been down for 3 plus years.
Since then, I have had a multitude of unexplainable experiences, a ghost, a womans voice, a plethora of spiritual dreams, and actual events involving my cows.

There is no other way to live. I am not there yet. But when we seek to understand hapiness in life and true love...its his ways. He didn't lie. He was the truth to the Father. No one will ever convince me otherwise. I pray I could have 10% of what that man had in spirit. His name will prevail in the end because scripture says so. Long live the testimony of Jesus...who was, and is the son of God.

because the Bible does NOT say when he was born and Christianity as a Church was paganized by the Romans in 300 AD... at that time the Bible was available in many languages. By 500 AD it was mostly in Latin and for the elites.

Men fought and died for it to be in English (Tyndale: read history of Geneva Bible: the only one I recommend).

Be aware, brother, that there are evil people who do not want you to know the truth and will lie and create b.s. to confuse you. It can take a long time of cross-referencing to figure out what is going on.

See Walter Veith vids on fossil record, DNA complexity, etc and other creationist scientists....

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan
