The only Greeks that tend not to understand are mostly the ones that belong to the system that's consuming the country. Golden Dawn are racist twats, but banning and arresting them on bullshit is not democracy. In fact it runs a huge risk of making them martyrs and turning them into a type of paramilitary organization.

They need to investigate any members responsible for crimes and charge them if guilty based on a transparent justice system.

If the political class from other groups and politically parties were actually listening to the people nobody would actually vote for GD. People vote for parties like this because they see injustice and see no alternative, or their ideals start to resonate.. Taking that away from people by force will give them nothing to turn to but violence... You dont beat facists by banning them, you beat them by giving a better alternative.

How can you go after a organization just because somebody who commits a crime on his own says he`s a supporter? This murder was not sanctioned by the golden dawn,it was a private act carried out by an individual who should pay for his actions individually. If this is the measuring stick then 6 out of the last 7 mass shooters in this country were committed by progressive liberals, shall we arrest the head of the democratic party?
This murderer was obviously on the fringe and went beyond the civilized standards we as a people set for ourselves in society.Most people in this growing political movement simply want there Greece back, a country steeped in history accomplishments.They want to preserve the Greek way of life and stop the rampant illegal immigration there traitorous leaders have enabled,thus turning Athens and other great symbols of Greece into 3rd world squalor ghettos, where not only is assimilation into Greek society scorned but where in place of gratitude for residency you have ungrateful immigrants making demands like they own the place.

Actually there was a scandal exposed a few days ago that a member of SYRIZA was the head. Apart from that SYRIZA supports the extreme nationalisms of neighboring countries. Maybe that it is because most of them are of different national identity. For example Mr Tsipras is of albanian heritage and the same goes for Mr Papadimoulis (I think he is from Paramythia which was inhabited by Greeks and Albanians until WWII).

BTW, in 2008 the cop that shot Alexis Grigoropoulos was a member of the PASOK party. Why they didn't ban the PASOK party? In the MARFIN incident where we had four deaths (one of them of an unborn child), members of the extreme left ANTARSYA party have been accused of placing the building on fire. The police hasn't arrested anyone for that and they haven't banned the ANTARSYA party.

The main point is that patriotism and of course extreme forms of it have been banned in the EU.
