From what I understand, the Kermadec region is a hot spot. I could be wrong but I don't think they are felt on New Zealand.

Kermadec is not close enough to New Zealand for us to feel .quakes etc

It was a 7.2 OP.

They have a habit of down gradeing them now. They usually shave .4 off them. Been going on last couple years. You got it right the first time. No doubts in my mind.

That location is just remote. Hardly anyone there to report or basically no one!

hence me knowing it was 7.2mg
