IT IS IN THE WESTERN SKY RIGHT AFTER SUNSET FAIRLY CLOSE TO THE SETTING SUN. For me in wisconsin @ least it is just above and slightly to the left of the just set sun. It looks @ lot like mars with just your eyes. But through glasses you can see what looks a hell of a lot like a comet to me. I have been watching this the last couple of weeks. I saw your thread yesterday OP and decided to put the binoculars on it last night. Whatever it is I don't think it's normal, it's not Venus. It looked like two separate objects to me, almost like a comet, there is some movement. I'm baffled! Will be checking out again tonight. Freaky! Dude I saw this 3 evenings ago, it was as large to the eye as the moon when it's close. It was about 1/3 waning, ie a crescent, cept the left 'horn had a 'v' like cut out of it at the top. The right horn was also distorted. Thought it was cloud but mentioned it to a couple of guys staying with us the following day as one has a decent telescope. What was wierd was it didn't appear the following evening around the same time. Just forgot about it until saw op when nearly choked. Got me thinking of the Nibiru being horned, Planet X, the horned planet. |

What I saw flickered, was orange, and made the hair on my neck stand up!!! I would like to know what is causing it regardless as it was the weirdest thing I've ever seen in the sky. It's trajectory from the previous two nights observations would of put in front of the sun. It was barely visible the second night, only for 10 mins. All of a few degrees from the setting sun. The first night it was twice as high(but still quite low) and visible for about 20 mins. It's been cloudy since Wednesday here... Its not easy to take pics of things that might be in space ya know!!! Look at all the pics of venus put on here. A friggin PLANET, that is usually our closest companion, looks TINY in most people's pics!!! I just think its a comet. The guy in this link; Thread: Strange Comet in Western Sky Sunset on 7-23-12 was able to I.D it as Comet Macholtz "I managed to get my telescope out and focused on this, and it was spectacular, with a "winged" plume. An internet search, finally revealed that it was Comet Macholtz. It has been visible for several days and maybe a few more. One guy on YouTube caught it in SOHO." Please take note of this next quote, he seen another comet but it was not "acknowledged"; I am curious why there are comets out there, in quantity, but yet none of the space agencies or astronomers are posting anything as to their origins, trajectories, etc. I admittedly have no other experience with this, but he claims to of seen ANOTHER comet other then Macholtz that was not officially recognized!!! So maybe this is nothing unusual.... |
