There REALLY IS something strange in western sky around sunset...!!!

Still have a couple hours here. I will try to find a vantage point and take a picture. The trees in my backyard are much too tall.

But you find it so important to follow this "meaningless thread" in your words
and jump in on a regular basis? I aslo see that you jump into any thread that
is started related to this object/subject and smack it down each time.

sure, be happy to, but my telescope is not equipped with a camera ... can I just put my camera lens over the telescope eye piece and "capture" what I see? ... I'll try it, but if it doesn't work I will try to focus on some details - I think my binoculars are better than the lens on this telescope LOL even with the lens booster ... I'm only getting 100x zoom


sigh, not tonight - they must have sprayed the hell out of California today ... there isn't a cloud in my sky, except for where the sun is setting ... and it is black with thick cloud cover ... ok - tomorrow, maybe my batteries will arrive ... guess I can take my diaper off

OK I got a pic of what I saw tonight and on the 5th it was taken with an iphone4s the object is about an inch above the trees and in the center. I did look through binoculars and it did appear to have a sparkling or flameish front or head and to me looked like a narrow V shape. Do what you like with the pic enhance it or debunk it its very small and for that I appologize. After 10 mins or so it was below the trees so it moved and is not venus you anus.

Just came from a walk outside. Not a cloud in the sky. Saw three contrails. No mysterious space object other than the Moon and Venus.

Was out tonight. With the moon for definite reference, the thing I have been looking at is Venus. Antares and Arcturus were where they should be also according to Stellarium. I could not find the other vaporish, winged-shaped object. I will say Venus is dynamic looking, got more orange as it set, sometimes looked like a jet coming right at you (which other people have said in other years when this comes up). I also have an even greater appreciation of where stuff is out there.

Can't take a picture tonight. Contrails have invaded my Western sky. I am expecting a weather system here until Wednesday night...
