I live in Calgary, Alberta and there has been an odd light appearing above the western horizon around sundown. If I was looking directly towards the sun and treated where the sun meets the horizon like the center of a clock then the object is between 10 and 11. It certainly is bright because I can see it with the naked eye long before I can see any stars in the sky. Here's hoping someone knows how to take a proper picture and can share it.
