Probably one of the only things on this site that you can see for yourself... guaranteed if you just look. Just AFTER SUNSET in the west over the sun ... with binoccs unless you have perfect eyesight< an then u should still use binoccs. Quoting: johnny nobody 46968190 um, orbiting space platforms. that's why it looks so close. |

Steve8511 User ID: 4813119 United States 10/01/2013 11:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is NOT venus(you can see that clearly to the left/higher) Quoting: ok 7875900 It is NOT mercury(can hardly be seen @ all, certainly doesn't have disc like appendage) You can not see anything unusual with eyes only, HOWEVER with a pair of binoculars you can see a round, reddish object as bright as Venus BUT with something CLEARLY protruding from it that is disc like but open ended. A sort of "V" shape to it... The left side appears to be more prominent. I've checked it out last two nights and can hardly believe my eyes. All articles I read state you can NOT see the rings of Saturn with just binocs; its too far for that. Plus the "V" shape part is larger then the object; it is vice versa with Saturn. I've seen saturn through a proper telescope and it was tiny, its rings even more so. Please if you are in usa/canada or other northern latitudes, check it out, near sunset WITH binocs @ least. I can't believe this but it looks just like the images of what niburu is supposed to look like, the winged disc!!! Craziest thing I've ever seen, right up there with hale bopp or green lightning or intense aurora action. I am sort of willing to believe it's Saturn due to local, appearance but doesn't seem possible @ all(way too much detail for such weak/generic binoculars! It doesn't even say the mag power on them.)!!! AND The rings are NOT open ended The rings are NOT more prominent then the planet/object Again it is NOT venus, observed it shorlty later/unmistakably. Mercury might of been the winged messanger but does NOT actually have wing/disc like appearance to it ever. Will attempt images tomorrow. We all seen and said the same here in Maryland. Wtf is it? |

I saw your thread yesterday OP and decided to put the binoculars on it last night. Whatever it is I don't think it's normal, it's not Venus. It looked like two separate objects to me, almost like a comet, there is some movement. I'm baffled! Will be checking out again tonight. Freaky! |

Sometimes it's easier to see than others. Your best bet is to go to a high elevation and look west towards the setting sun. The show starts about 20 minutes after the sun sets over the horizon. Cheers! |

Last night a friend asked me about this bright object in the sky and I told her I have viewed it off and on for approx 2 months. I have noticed it a handful of times right after the Sun goes down in the Western sky above SC. I have a few videos of it from different nights. It is round from my perspective although others mention it with a tail. Peace Last Edited by Amy_A on 10/02/2013 10:30 AM Amy |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1303612 United States 10/02/2013 10:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been watching this for awhile now and yes, it is to the west and it is massive as well as bright. If it's a star it's one of the biggest ones I've ever seen. Viewing is only for a couple of hours after sunset and then it's gone. |

But the skies at dusk up here in the PNW have had a very odd hue for most of the summer. At first they appeared rosy pink; lately they seem greenish? Related? I couldn't tell you. diette User ID: 21033400 Canada 10/02/2013 11:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Went out to look about an hour after sunset. The brightest object in the western sky for me was Arcturus in the Bootes constellation. It was VERY big and bright and twinkling many different colours. Maybe it's what you're seeing? If its twinkling its not Saturn, planets shine they don't twinkle. If you have an iPhone there's a cool app called Skyview you could use tonight to try to identify it. Point it to what you're looking at and it should tell you what it is. |

Wouldn't that clear up whether or not it's a plane? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47174404 LOL The only person up to now suggesting its a plane beside the sun....LOL.... is you fool. Go get yourself a telescope. You poor thing. It is on this very page where it was claimed to be contrails. And the other thread it is discussed over and over. |

It's bright, & flickers between white, red, and green. I'll try the binoculars tonight & see if I can get a better view of it. |
