It was about 1/3 waning, ie a crescent, cept the left 'horn had a 'v' like cut out of it at the top. The right horn was also distorted. Thought it was cloud but mentioned it to a couple of guys staying with us the following day as one has a decent telescope. What was wierd was it didn't appear the following evening around the same time. Just forgot about it until saw op when nearly choked. Got me thinking of the Nibiru being horned, Planet X, the horned planet. [link to www.google.co.uk] |

BoxerLvr User ID: 1248172 Puerto Rico 10/03/2013 12:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I saw this object Sunday night around 7:00pm. I was on my way home from queens to manhattan, it was easily the brightest object in the sky. we don't often get to see stars in the city, but this mofo was huge, and it was still light out. I took a pic with my phone, obvioulsy it just looks like a dot in the sky, but at least u can see its still light out. Thats important because we rarely get to see stars at night, let alone a lit sky. wtf is that thing! Quoting: Drrreet It's the planet Venus. First "star" out and by far the brightest object in the west right after sunset. If you download Stellarium it will show you exactly what the night sky looks likes from your location. I've viewed it through my telescope and it's in a waning gibbous phase. It is precisely because it is fashionable for Americans to know no science, even though they may be well educated otherwise, that they so easily fall prey to nonsense. They thus become part of the armies of the night, the purveyors of nitwittery, the retailers of intellectual junk food, the feeders on mental cardboard, for their ignorance keeps them from distinguishing nectar from sewage. — Isaac Asimov |

ok/op User ID: 44769796 United States 10/03/2013 01:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So glad to hear ther numerous similar sightings. There does seem to be a lil bit of variability to it.s actual appearance but of course things look different and are in different "apparent" locations across our globe. The defining characteristics of the actual object are: It is obviously large. Venus is the THIRD largest object normally. Sun, moon, venus; this by the naked eye, looks larger then venus! Also it is out early, it is the first thing you can see as the sun sets. For most it is gone("set") by the time venus shows up. Venus should be first to show up, about half an hour after sunset. This is there immediately the moment the sun sets and its glare is gone allowing its observation. Venus is bright(third brightest!) and even it takes half and hour of further diminishing of the suns influence before you can see it. Obviously it is quite bright and in my opinion large(@ least whatever is eminating or interacting from/with it) And maybe most importantly you can actually get a good look with magnification. Plain and simple it looks like a comet. There is a red/orange color to it mostly, white shows up a bit too. Some report a green hue @ times as well. I.d imagine there can be quite the difference depending on your locale and atmospheric conditions. The gist of it is that it is large, at least twice as big as venus(visually), but with binocs it is easily 3-4x larger! So yes that is still a fairly faint far away object admittedly but we are seeing some detail that is hard to explain/comprehend. Honestly you could not really debunk this for me. I KNOW WHAT I SEEN GOD DAM IT! I mean idk what it is, but I know it IS NOT VENUS, SAT, MERC, MARS, ARCTURUS, REGULAS, POLARIS, SPICA, M13, THE MOON, AN EYE FLARE, A PLANE, A CLOUD, ETC ETC ETC. I, and many many many others have gotten a good enough look @ this to be completely mystified by it and have conclusively ruled out "all" other options, for now... |

For f.s sake man! I will never ever confuse anything for venus! IT IS THE THIRD LARGEST/BRIGHTEST OBJECT IN THE SKY! there is no mistaking it(venus)! You can clearly see it later, higher, longer and UNMISTAKABLY!!! We looked into all other possibilities and its not them either! You can either see those options later and in different location or you can't even see them @ all... I was given constellation books as a kid and instilled with a sense of awe and knowledge of the heavens...(thanks dad! Sure do miss you!) I am the type that goes out in f.n -30 degree nonsense to catch some geminids... I seen the venus transit last summer through a tele Hydra, draco, pollux, arcturus, regulus, the pleades, the lyre, castor, some messier objects, vega, major/minors, andromeda and all of the zodiac are not foreign to me. Do Iget them confused sometimes? Yep. Obviously Iam literate and Ican certainly read a star chart. Do Iknow them all? Of course not. That.s why I looked into it and was absolutely willing to accept any reasonable possibility. However it is simply not any of those. There was only a few real options anyways which were quickly ruled out through actual observation of them or "absolute" impossibility. |

Venus is the brightest thing in the western/south western sky tonight... @ about 4 or 5 o'clock is Saturn in relation to Venus... Please get an astronomy program...there are many free ones out there... And also to be clear...The Sun is the brightest thing in the "daytime sky" the Moon is the brightest thing in the "night time sky"...Venus is the second brightest thing in the night sky and can be seen in the daytime right now if you know where to look... Hope this helps... |

Saturn certainly isn't vis before venus. Sky has to darken some you know before you can see them. You can not just stand there with some random generic binocs and expect to see the rings of saturn @ all. Yes u can see it but its just a spec with no particular detail.. |

Just trying to keep an open mind. I am well aware that this sounds/seems far fatched, hoakey and that we are just confused. Absolutely a possibility but then so should our "conjecture" be given the same(well some @ least) consideration, no? This is a conspiracy forum. We think there is a good possibility something strange has been observed in the sky and it is not being "officially" acknowledged. There is a massive amount of incoming objects all of the sudden. Nasa has been sent home. Its satellite are failing. They are releasing a tiny, infuriatingly small amount of the images they are capturing. they brightened the original image of ison with the "parallax" so you couldn't see it, only upon reducing it does that image emerge. There is often missing images from the stereo, soho, sdo, etc with out an explanation too. |

It can be seen just about every day but the again sometimes you can not see it. I have used an app, Sky View from Google, and it does not show it as Saturn, or Venus. At the time I checked Saturn was already below the horizon and Venus was on the other side of the Earth... It is clearly seen as the brightest object in the sky before sunset and lasts for a couple of hours after sunset and the quickly sets. |

To the naked eye( no scope or binoculars) i thought we could not see Saturn until it was very dark. I saw this around 7pm last night on the way home from work. And it is very bright. |
