There REALLY IS something strange in western sky around sunset...!!!

Red and bright about 355 degrees N about the same as Venus above the horizon. Anybody notice this Gem?

has ANYONE got a video or picture showing this object WITH Venus at the same time? Is it possible to pan around slightly to then show Venus.

surely this (keep it simple stupid) approach would sort out these sightings?

Last night it looked like it was coming in for a landing.
People.were walking around pointing at the SW sky.

Looked like an intergalactic cop. Flashing red and blue.

So Astro...what is this V-shaped thing in the videos? (See above) I am new to GLP, got hooked in reading this thread early on, never could spot this object, and then assumed you were right that people were seeing Venus. You seemed knowledgeable and credible. I expected this thread to be dead, but it is still going. I do not understand your position/opinion on the videos with this V thing. Please inform. Thanks.

The videos above (of the v-shaped object) are in fact distant contrails showing the same properties that many have described. That is the whole point.

Thanks...I just watched the video all the way to the end where it shows the lights flashing...so, I guess so, too.

Various people are seeing various things, some people are seeing the "V" above. I have a feeling Boxer has more photos forthcoming that will explain its true nature...

I took this yesterday. It shows the location of Arcturus and Antares in relation to Venus. No strange object in sight.

The pics are so zoomed out there is no way to tell what the object is, but they do look similar to the zoomed out contrails in my videos.

Also, the flaming red color you see in some Youtube videos, like this one -> [link to www.youtube.com] that you like so much, is from Youtube trying to enhance the video. After you upload a video, Youtube offers to improve it (by increasing the contrast & saturation, etc). The problem is, they WAY over do it. Instant fiery comet.

If you were being intellectually honest you'd admit it's the same thing that others have posted throughout this thread regarding the "flaming V" or "comet-like" object.

Never mind the contrails you've captured don't depict the same shape as the subject of this thread. Did Youtube splice together different videos like your first two? Did Youtube magically make your contrails quickly rise above the skyline and grow larger like in your last two videos? Very much unlike the other videos posted. Did Youtube shuffle together different bit's of the same clips also so you could post more vids?

I'm not buying what you're selling. Sorry about that. Am sure you probably spent most of the night working on that project. Maybe you can take solace in the idea you've wasted other peoples time as well.

My re-posting SunnyDaze pics was in response to a request to show proof of the same thing being seen in the same place on different days. They are not really convincing of much else other than giving a general idea of what was being seen. BTW SD still reports seeing it, whether permitting, claims to know the difference between it and a contrail, and doesn't behave like a con artist.

They look exactly like the objects in the videos you posted here. I bet if I would have posted my videos as an AC, only showing you the parts I wanted you to see, you would have gladly accepted them as proof of the object. LOL. You're too intellectually dishonest to admit it :

Whatever IT is or is not, IT is brightly shining right now, in the SW in central NC. Has only been "up" for a little bit and will quickly go away. But, before IT sets, it is the most brilliantly shining thing in the sky.

The video titled Comet after Sunset Sept 27, 2013 is exactly what I saw in the sky from Norman Oklahoma probably about the same time... 9-27-2013... saw it a couple of times and not been able to catch it since. I have been observing contrails and chemtrails for nearly 20 years and this caught my eye as something I had never seen before...
