This is disgusting. I think we all know that the gov't is worse than corporations when it comes to privacy but for them to outright say 'no right to privacy' is an in your face move. They are backing people into corners.

Yes it does i live there.I started checking it out since im uninsured,checked out the prices an such on first day,was giving the estimate of 165.00 for cheapest plan,checked back today,same plan same info, price is 265.00 4 days later!il check again next week,guessing 365.00,not that it matters.

Myself an 20 or so friends an co workers are not signing up,no matter the threat!!we see how far they are willing to go!we are willing to go to jail for this.we are all older 40-50s,we had enough!

The fine is small in the first year. The fine maxes out 2.5% of income, why risk jail over that?

I am also hearing,not sure about, it from a friend whos wife has company insurance that they pay a large part of,that they will be required to add the amount of money the company pays as income on there taxs now!?ex...they pay 500 month/6000 a year of her ins.she will have to add 6000 to her income an pay tax on that 6000 at end of year...anyone hear this?shes a lil dingy she might have misunderstood.lol....but shes hot!

The deductibles are insane. This means you pay upfront around 14,000 a year before you are covered. Basically, you pay out of pocket for any care you need. The monthly payment is only to line the pockets of Govt. Why would anyone be stupid enough to sign up for this shit.

I have yet to hear a good explanation on how those two mesh together. And having been involved in the medical field for years, HIPAA is not something to be messed with if you want to keep your job.

It looks to me like a gaping hole just waiting for state AG's to rumble in the courtroom. And for something that's so supposed to be so well written with thousands of pages worth of legislation it sure seems they left a lot out.

The best solution is to stay away from doctors as much as possible. This all just seems like a precursor to herding all of the people like cattle, telling them and requiring what types of procedures for them to get, and eventually requiring a computer chip for everyone.

Agreed. Mr. Rhombus wrote an HMR program about 12 years ago. He decided to move on to the manufacturing industry because HIPAA was such a pain in the ass. They're harping on the healthcare industry to comply with a strict set of rules regarding privacy while they're covering their own butts with "no expectation of privacy" disclaimers. You can't have it both ways.
